Helios F-15E Version 1.0.3 Out Now

IMORTANT NOTE- you MUST have Helios version 1.6.606 or higher AND you must download and install the latest F-15E plugin to go along with it!

Thank you! Keep an eye out, I’m going to add a couple things that were requested (already have them on mine) this weekend and maybe push it tomorrow or sometime this weekend. Just adding scroll buttons for the kneeboard and possibly  adding CaptnZeens airfield charts in and an extra button for the maps, for those that want to use them. 
 Please let me know if you find anything thats not working right ( minus the known issues from the release notes).

For the life of me I can't get this fixed. The profile loads but is missing images. Doing a search in the image folder for one of the images missing below results in no file found. Adding interface doesn't show the F-15E interface. Any ideas?

Those images are built into the F-15E plugin for helios. Go to the Helios download link I provided. Make sure you have version 1.6.602 installed. There is also a plugin installer download for the F-15E. Make sure it installs into the helios root directory, NOT into c:/Documents/Helios ( where profiles and images are stored). It will go into c:/ Program Files/Helios Virtual Cockpit, for example, if you used the default directory for Helios. The plugin system is new and will take some getting used to. But it helps Bluefin a lot on the backend to keep Helios updates and installers separated from module information.

You will know if you installed the plugin correctly, if you go to “add remove programs” in windows, it will show up as a separate software right under helios.

 In the first couple minutes of Bluefins video here, he runs through installing the plugin

Yes! That's what the issue was(and me not following clear instructions  . My dumb self confused the plugin as the module. I thought: "I already have F-15E installed, don't need the plugin". Didn't realize the plugin was for Helios.

Not a problem! Its thrown a few people off. The idea being, going forward is that the plugin system will let people install just the modules they have, so helios isn’t loaded down with a bunch of unnecessary aircraft parts/ patches etc. that don’t apply to them. Bluefin has wanted to do it for a while and as the f-15 interface was being finished up, it was playing hell with the helios installer for some unknown reason so he said okay now is the time to separate them. Glad you got it running! Hope it lives up to expectations!

I've used Helios years ago. Looking forward to using it again. I like the way the plugins work. Configuring the placements of the viewports were a pain in the early version of Helios. This was a breeze!

I only started using helios a couple years ago. I love it! From what I gather, since the implementation of helios 1.6 things have gotten much more streamlined. BlueFin is great at keeping it running smoothly and adding new features. It can do far more than I’m capable if making it do. The plug-ins will work out good I think. I’m not sure how rocky the transition will be when all other modules are converted to plugins, but knowing Bluefin, it should be pretty easy.

You know, I have no idea lol  There is a kneeboard item in the toolbox, however its not for the in-game kneeboard, it is to make your own( like CaptnZeens maps), which after looking through his would take almost as much work as creating an entire profile lol. That would be REALLY cool to be able to have the in-game kneeboard on its own panel! I’m honestly not sure on the controls indicator, I’ve never used it so I didn’t even consider looking into it. My guess is, though, since both of those are part of the UI layer in dcs that it would have to have specific patches written for them and added to helios the same way viewports are, then the profile would need to be made strategically with sections that could hide because viewports only run on the main monitor layer behind all of the objects. Another factor is, those items may not even have the ability to export from dcs. Kneeboard size and position is really bad with multi-screens and from posts I’ve read, its not very easy to do any workaround. I will mention it to Bluefin and see what his thoughts are on it. Maybe there is a way that I don’t know about. I’m far from an expert, I just cut out pictures from 300, or so, screenshots and used the tools given in helios lol I’m so dumb when it comes to the real technical side

New version out. Fix for WSO Caution Panel

*** Just an FYI for anyone that runs into it. For the Terrain Following Radar Controls- TFR Couple Switch, Flyup Switch and Switch Cover. The output bindings from Helios to DCS do not function at this time as RazBam changed the  Device ID numbers during its implementation. These will be fixed in the next Helios Release with an updated interface.***

Reverting back to Helios 1.6.604 and that version of the plugin should work until we get it handled

Now that the new Helios release is out, over on GitHub is version 1.0.3 of the profile. This should fix all of the UFC woes. Update Helios, Update the F-15e plugin, then download and install ver 1.0.3 and it should be good. If you have a modified profile and don’t want to install a new profile version, message me and I will show you how to fix your existing one.

Everyone using Helios and my f-15 profile. In the newest version of Helios, releasing soon (1.6.608) the f-15e plugin will no longer be required. It has been integrated into Helios.

IMPORTANT- The new version will still work fine if you keep the plugin installed, BUT if you want to uninstall the plugin PLEASE uninstall it BEFORE updating to Helios 1.6.608! If you update first, then uninstall the plugin, it will delete all of the f-15 items from Helios and you will have to re-install 1.6.608 again.
