How do you get the DDs to go into flight quarters?

Apart from the (probably apocryphal) story of the helo that went into a backwards hover in front of the bridge of the USS Neverdock; the pilot pointed at himself, then at the OOD, then pointed down.  Apparently the OOD asked someone what that meant (they tend not to the the brightest bulbs) and took the ship to flight quarters so the helo could land before it ran out of gas.

<edit>

And the answer is: Once your wheel touch the ship goes to flight quarters.  Watched the nets go down on the next several landings.  NOW we just need HIFR capabilities.  That would be cool...

</edit>

This is not it, but once I landed everything was rigged for flight.  Dicey landing with that aft flag pole up!

Call them on the radio and say you are "inbound".
Does that always work? Sincere question!
Why I ask is that a lot of DLC campaigns have you land on ships that the creators have renamed, (like FARPs. Argh! I hate it when they change the name of FARPs during night missions), and you're off to guessing which bloody ship it is you're supposed to call.
In the Huey I can let the skids touch the rails to "force" them down, kinda harder with wheels!

The list of landing places in the ATC communications submenu is sorted by distance, closest at the top. So once you're close to the ship, that should be the first one listed.

The frequency may or may not have been changed by the mission designer. But in doubt, you can try on 127.5 AM, which is the default.

Thanks! I do know that. But I use VAICOM and try to avoid the radio menu as much as possible.
