Mad Dog 762 Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Hi, I play DCS World in VR. I have been using a HP Reverb G2 for years and just upgraded to an Aero. I am having an unusual problem, I use the visible mouse cursor in VR to click on things in the menu and cockpit with the mouse buttons bound to buttons on my HOTAS. This has always worked well in the Reverb. However, in the Aero, it works fine in the menu's, but in the cockpit, the mouse cursor is "off" by quite a bit, and it does not even seem to be a consistent amount/direction. I have tried a bunch of things such as turning off automatic IPD and I have recalibrated eye tracking numerous times, nothing has solved the problem. I have moved my base stations to different locations as well. Anyone have any ideas? The clarity of the Aero is outstanding but something is out of whack with the cockpit mouse cursor! mbucchia Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Sounds like the infamous cursor bug with Varjo Quad Views. Can be fixed by using the multi-threaded (MT) version of DCS. I wasn't banned, but this account is mostly inactive and not monitored.
Mk1_Trebuchet Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 I had the issue with my G2, but it was only off a little bit. Quite a Bit more out of whack on the QuestPro I'm currently using.... I just kinda live with it. (I am, and have been using MT all along) But I do have an Aero on the way... so I'm going to stalk this thread. Mad Dog 762 Posted September 30, 2023 Author Posted September 30, 2023 So I found at least one solution. I had to turn off OpenXR support in Varjo Home, and make Steam VR the default Open XR app. When you do this, you have to turn ON OpenVR in Varjo Home or you won't have any output to your headset. It works now. I have not tried it in MT thread yet, on my G2 I did not get very good performance in MT but I will try it with the Aero when I get a chance. All that said....the performance of the Aero is even smoother than the G2 at the same settings, and the visuals are much cleaner. I am very happy with it so far. 1 System: Intel Core i9-9900KF @ 5 Ghz, Z-390 Gaming X, 64Gb DDR4-3200, EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3, Dedicated SSD, Varjo Aero, Winwing Orion & F-16EX DCS Modules: A-10C II, A/V-8B NA, Bf-109 K4, P-51D, P-47D, F/A-18C, F-14 A/B, F-16 CM, F-86F, JF-17, KA-50 Black Shark 3, UH-1H, Mosquito, AH-64D Longbow, F-4E Terrains & Tech: Afghanistan, Caucasus, Persian Gulf, Normandy, Syria, Nevada, The Channel, Combined Arms, WWII Assets, Supercarrier

Yeah that was my experience also coming from a Reverb G2 and Vive Pro 2. This works too, but this isn't the best solution for Varjo users. Using quad views with MT (to fix the the cursor issue) and https://github.com/mbucchia/Varjo-Foveated/wiki is where the money's at! 2 I wasn't banned, but this account is mostly inactive and not monitored.
