vanir Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I've got detailed specs on the Chinese made MiG-21MF (J-7 III) 7.154m wingspan (23', 5 + 5/8") length excl. nose probe 13.945m length incl. nose probe 14.885m overall height 4.103m wing aspect ratio 2.22, wing area 23m^2 weight empty 5275kg normal max t-o weight (2x PL2 or PL7 missiles carried) 8150kg VNE above 12500m Mach 2.35 Max level speed above 12500m Mach 2.05 max normal operating Mach number 2.1 acceleration from 0.9 Mach to 1.2 Mach at 5000m 35sec service ceiling 18200m absolute ceiling 18700m g limit +8 Chinese made WP13 engine produces 40.21/64.73kN with a 1500hr total service life, the main difference between this and the Soviet model. Vekkinho Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 The data I provided is correct. Trust me. © I know Ulrich, I never said it's wrong, I just wanted to point out difference in data available across the net. However, accurate data probably comes straight from Russia like in your case! 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vekkinho Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Cool, historic plane finally in game :) Thx! ...and most wanted probably! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ulrich Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 OT: Ulrich, question on your avatar: are you sitting in the real Ka-50 Black Shark cockpit ? Correct, onboard #26.
beczl Posted March 15, 2009 Author Posted March 15, 2009 Hi, Stay cool guys. The datas in the wiki isn't correct as I recognised. So I guess the datas that sent Ulrich by me is valid. I already get a contact some retired Mig-21 pilot and technician, and we figure out together which data is correct and wich one isn't. Some developments: Canopy washerfluid: Centerflap: Engine: Nosegear: Tail: Nose: 1
tonialkon Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Its lock great, I love this plane, very nice model:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SuperKungFu Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 incredible details! I see above that some people is having a hard time giving files to beczl due to a 5 mb limit in e-mails, in that case just use yousendit.com [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vekkinho Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Good looking! Beczl, have you seen this page: http://www.primeportal.net/hangar/mig-21_home.htm [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Sir_Troooper Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Finally! Nice job Beczl, as always! A.K.A Csocso
Mnemonic Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Nice! Some time ago I tried to model this birdy but it was too hard for me, well done!
Vekkinho Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Here, more pics: http://walkarounds.airforce.ru/avia/rus/mig/mig-21bis/index.htm [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Sir_Troooper Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 If you'll make it flyable, you should replace the MiG-29K with it. Just an idea. :) A.K.A Csocso
SuperKungFu Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I believe what Sir Trooper meant was that there's an empty slot for an AI aircraft which was the MiG-29K. It was present in Flanker 2 but not in Lock On, so Sir Trooper suggested to use that empty slot and insert the MiG-21 in there so it can actually fly without replacing another other objects. At least that's how I understood it. But i think if this model is good (which it sure looks like it), ED might add it in officially with its own FM so its more realistic. Not flyable of course but AI. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Kuky Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 The MiG looks great and I love the detail into engine and flaps! If you could anyhow make it as new flyable aircraft without replacing any existing one that would just rock! PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Vekkinho Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Yes, thats how i mean, thanks SuperKungFu! I understood Trooper's idea the first time, it was just funny idea landing Fishbed on a Kuz! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vekkinho Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 But i think if this model is good (which it sure looks like it), ED might add it in officially with its own FM so its more realistic. Not flyable of course but AI. Like in a FC1.13 patch or DCS:Fishbed?! I always thought Fishbed deserves more attention since it's a world's most widespread fighter (10.000+ aiframes built in total) that served 40 years ago but still in active service with all new upgrades available. It's hard to beat that! I'd say impossible! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
beczl Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 Hi, The K1-M ejection seat is almost finished. 1

SuperKungFu Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 wow you are working overtime and fast! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vekkinho Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 That KM-1 is incredible in detail. Good work! Lately I enjoy 3GO's Su-27 (it's finally time to collect some Flanker flight hours in FC) and I really like the 3D pilot model they made. It doesn't replace all Russian pilots in FC as I thought it would but is Flanker specific! It makes me think of a MiG-21bis specific pilot who's wearing ZSh-3 helmet and KM-32 Oxy mask that were used since late '60, during '70s and '80 when Bis ruled the skies! Here's the link to ZSh-3 and KM-32: http://gauntletinternational.com/helmets/ZSh-3.htm Now, 3GO's Su-27 pilot is good when inside the plane but parachutist remains the same guy that was used in Flanker 2. It's simply awful! So Beczl, could U make a hi-poly version of a pilot_parashut.cmd and PILOT+K36.cmd files?! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
beczl Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 Thanks guys. :-) I have a plenty of freetime this week because I hade no internet connection. I had a lot of trouble about the front gear animation it was harder than I had thought. So I pause this and start to work on the cockpit. The pilot: Tomcatz already do that. The new parashute and the pilot+K36 is in the great new Mig-29 mod by Tomcatz. And I have no experience with the human body animation but if necessary I'll try it. Thanks the link Vekkinho. 2
