Mirage F1 (all variant) trim is visible on trim indicator but doesn't affect pitch & roll

Hi, i've bought the Mirage F1 a few days ago and have tried to get trim working, but it looks like the trim is bugged for me. When i use the correct inputs for trimming the pitch and / or the roll, i can see the little diamond on the control indicator moving left, right, up & down, as well as on the trim indicator inside the cockpit behind the stick. But still it isn't physically affecting controls of the aircraft, rendering trim useless.

It happens on all variants of the Mirage F1, but my trim inputs on other aircrafts work just fine.

Hope you guys can help 🙂

Hi Vibora, i'm flying on keyboard & mouse but this is not the problem, i'm using Vjoy to fly with axes but i've tried with and without Vjoy, still does the same.. Any ideas?

Okay. I'm sorry, as I'm away and only able to use my laptop so I'm more limited in what I can succesfully test and debug. Can you send a track on the Caucasus map, on the ground in singleplayer, please? As well as specifying which version you are using. I have to ask for this because my computer still seems to be unable to open the track.

Hi again fausete, i'm on the last version of the game, and i guess its an issue coming directly from the game since i cannot open my own tracks either. I just get infinite loading everytime.

Hi. Please provide a short trk that works and shows the bug right away, in single player and in Caucasus map. Tell us the version you are using. You may look at it in autoupdate.cfg located in main DCS directory. In fact, you should use latest OB version which is 2.9.0.47168.

You may take a look at ED's guide on how to report a bug:

FYI, I can't open your trk either. Thank you.

Hi i'm on the last version of OB, using the multithread preview 2.9.0.47168

I've tested playing the track in singleplayer with a friend of mine, the track works. May have been the 4YA server.

There you goTrackMirageF1Trim.trk

On my screen, the control surfaces doesn't move at all, my stick doesn't move also, only the trimhat does.

So I'm the friend, been flying the F1 with a HOTAS & rudder since the module was released in pre-release, and my trim works just fine.
I can read this last .trk just fine, and so I believe you guys at AERGES should too.

However, there is an inconsistency in the way the trackfile itself plays between Chokaa's side and mine: on his, neither the physical stick inside the cockpit (apart from the Trim hat moving) or the outside control surfaces are affected by trim. (I know this from watching a screenshare of the issue over discord).
When I watch this track, however, both the stick and control surfaces move. I believe this causes some glitch inside DCS, with a mismatch between the position of control surfaces and the aircraft's behaviour. I believe that is the cause for quite drastic stutters that I experience while watching this track, and that you guys may also see.

Thanks for your time 🙂

Hi again, just to precise, singlethreading just as multithreading doesn't change anything with the issue. Just tested it

Oh and uninstalling & reinstalling the module didn't work either.

Hi, I experience exactly the same as @Tiromir describes. If I force the FFB option in our internal code, I see the same issue as @Chokaa is describing.

So my assesment is the same as it was in the beginning, there is something in your computer that, for whatever reason, DCS detects as a FFB stick. Can you please try going to the Options menu and then to the Misc. submenu and deselect the option called Force Feedback?

Okay so, i'm using VJOY to get virtual axis for me so it becomes playable since i'm on keyboard. Now i've tried checking the FFB emulator in the miscs, putting every FFB options to 0, still the same, tho if i unbind the axis and put the keyboard key to control my aircraft the trim works fine. Now i'm trying to find a solution so i can use VJOY while having the trim works, if its because of VJOY emulating a certain FFB, could we change it ?

@fausete is describing forcing the FFB option, so maybe there could be a player-accessible option to disable it?
Vjoy is the only way for @Chokaa to fly the F1 as m&kb inputs are all processed differently by every module developer, some in ways that can't be used at all. The F1 has them modelled particularly harshly iirc, and vjoy is the solution to that problem on every single module in DCS and even every flight sim out there.

His trim controls work normally on other modules, with and without vjoy, so it seems the solution could be F1 related

We will investigate, I think a user had a similar problem in the past and managed to solve it changed the config of a the software/hardware that was causing the issue. If you don't manage just tell me and we'll try to include an 'Always deactivate FFB' option in the Special Options menu.

I'm sorry @fausete using Vjoy is very complex and honestly i don't think that i will be able to make it. That would be well appreciated if you could get with that option in future updates 😄

Thanks a lot for your time.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Did you put the FFB settings in the DCS options to off ? (It's on by default)

Hoye everyone, i was just wondering if we've got any news concerning the potential option called "Always desactivate FFB" that could get my trim working ? Sadly still haven't find any solutions yet. Thanks a lot !
