RTX4090, 13900K 5800Mhz, 64GB DDR5 5600, M.2 Install, Reverb G2

2.8 worked fantastic. 90fps settings pretty high, maybe medium shadows and water. but way better than it works now.

I can't fly over a city without dropping down to 60 FPS and its very stuttery, makes me sick, unplayable. I've even tried putting all the settings back to before DLSS and I get nowhere near the frames I got in 2.8. Is this all really because rotorwash now makes the grass move? it seems like massive performance dump, and no matter what I do I can't get near what I used to get. I really hope there is something that can be done to fix this.

Please help, I have no friends,(like Wags admitted in one of his last videos 🙂). This is all I do, I just stair at the wall, and sleep now.

You don't need DLSS with that rig.  Try DLAA.  These are my settings with Motion Reprojection, and they are great IMHO.  HAGS off.  The key is to lower Forest Details and Visibility sliders.

This does work. Thanks. I'm sad that I have to turn my settings down so much and use reprojection again. It doesn't seem right, but it is playable this way.

Have a i5 12600k, RTX 3080, 64GB DDR5 and Reverb G2 V2. Just tweaked my settings for 2.9 after first tweaking them for the Reverb that I got not long ago coming from a Rift S.

Im pretty happy with how it runs now, running at 60Hz I get solid 60 fps i Persian Gulf, Caucasus, Nevada and South Atlantic. Only some local places in Syria cause drops down to 50 fps.

Perhaps you can find some inspration in my settings, its in swedish but I think you understand it. Attaching them.

The wierd thing is that I when I switched from Rift S to Reverb G2 I must have accidently changed something using these settings because I got a huge performance increase together with much sharper image. (That was i 2.8 with MSAA).

I think it was something in BIOS or Nvidea Control Panel.

Now with 2.9 its even better.

I also have a alternate thats pretty ok and that is DLAA instead of DLSS and Pixel Density 0.7 instead of 1.0. But now I run as im the zip, DLSS and Pixel Density 1.0.

Report back if it helps you somehow.

Better to post a screenshot from the Task Manager, while in DCS MT as well as DCS MT VR, the settings your posted tell pretty much nothing in regard to performance. At least that's my opinion. DCS performance is not solely dependant on fancy hardware. But I seem to be alone in this view, I've noticed. 🙂

Maybe I have a solution for some of you that worked quite well for me if you have massive performance issues.

I found the thread below and it´s about an alternative to the OpenXR Toolkit. It should also be compatible with the OpenXR Toolkit but I completely deinstalled that.

This software implements the foveated rendering via "quad view" and it works with a lot of headsets especially for those with eye tracking but also with my G2.

With the OpenXR Toolkit I always needed Foveated rendering and motion reprojection for a smooth gameplay. In 2.8 I had max 30 fps over densly populated areas and up to 45 fps just in the sky but it was completely smooth with almost no stuttering even in low altitudes.

With this software in 2.9 I have up to 90 fps with 90 hz  (not such a fancy system: RTX 3080 (OC), I9-10900K (OC), 32 GB DDR4 RAM) and the smoothness is the same or slightly better  without motion reprojection. I still have very very slight micro stuttering within fast abrupt movements but it is far from unplayable.

That micro stuttering should anyway be a DCS 2.9 problem as I read and   they will fix it witin the next update...hopefully...

There is also a new interesting video on YT that recommends deleting the files in the folders "metashaders2" and "fxo" after EVERY DCS update.

Maybe that coul help 🙂
