Hey Rudel, long time no read!
I ll take a closer look.
In the meantime many users have registered, thus I consider a problem with e-Mail, not with the registering form itself.
I will contact you via e-Mail or PM, so please standby pal!

This looks awesome - recently bought the Viggen and have been looking for something more in depth than the stock training missions.

Just curious, why is there a 60 minute time limit for completing the training missions after you download them?

Also, I'm having issues with the Discord link on the Viggen.Training homepage: - https://discord.com/channels/1071433028045377637/1166748421005262929

When I press it, it just takes me to random channels on servers I'm already a member of. Looks to be a link to a specific channel rather than an actual Discord invite?

Hey Simo!

First, thanks for your feedback!
Regarding the discord this link, I guess you are right. I created the link by RMB click on the channel > Copy link.

But you may use this one here at first: https://discord.gg/heatblur-simulations

Can you give me feedback if that worked for you?

Thank you!!

P.S.: The time-limit was introduced for some different reasons. One technicial is to keep the server clean of "open" flights as good as possible. Another big reason was immersion; to have the student pilots "feel the real challenge"; if he/she starts over, one hour later you are back (this depends on the actual estimated duration of the flight, and will be / is different for most flights), then upload the file (kind of bring back the data-cartridge), then the debriefing comes in. So no time for any breaks or interruptions, just having the pilot stay focussed on the specific flight, fully. This in turn means if someone begins a flight, there is no way out other than cancelling the flight by stopping DCS, and then via the homepage (if your house becomes wobbly caused by an earthquake or something similar 😉 ).
We want pilots to stay 100% focussed, and we want them to experience each flight as "real" as possible.

Usually, there is enough time for uploading the results file. In case you experience short comings on this particular issue, I kindly ask you to provide feedback!

Many thanks TOViper - that link worked and I've managed to join the HB discord and locate the viggen.training channel.

Thanks also for the explanation regarding the time limit. The rationale makes sense - I'll give it a go and let you know if I have any feedback.

All the best with this endeavour!

Dear viggen.training user!

During the last days (or even weeks, we are trying to figure this out), the LMS Assessment Center experienced a little problem with the payment function.
In some cases, the button "Proceed to Checkout" might have been unusable; the button simply didn't change its state from inactive to active.
This software bug has been fixed, and you may now proceed with payments as usual.

Happy examinations and kind regards,
TOViper
🙂

When I click the "Quick Start Guide" banner on the site I get an error message:

Discord doesn't seem to work as well, the channel link is broken/locked.

Edit: I got the quick start download working after creating an account - should make the requirement more obvious!

Hello Jaccuru, thank you for your issue report.
You are right, the guide should be public, but currently needs registration.
I will repair this very soon.

For the time beeing, I attached the guide to the OT of this thread.

Kind regards,
TOViper

All training flights have been modified.
Under Windows 11 the output of the log file was inhibited due to a missing
Desktop folder in the Windows user profile folder.
The new logic reverts to the Windows user profile folder in case the Desktop folder is missing.
Thanks Discord user Tungsten for reporting!

Hello, I have so many missions downloaded in a folder. Does this mean you have to download them again? Thank you for your work!

Hey Raiden!
I am talking about training flights now, not about the quick missions (which I suppose you are talking about):
If they worked, no. If you had problems creating the log file on the desktop: yes.

Dear Viggen drivers out there!

Report:
Due to a configuration problem in the ASSESSMENT CENTER, the Pre-Entry Checks for:

  • A1.00
  • B1.00
  • B4.00

where not automatically re-newed in case you didn't pass it. This is fixed for now.
All affected users have been informed by an e-mail with subject "Viggen.training - Course Information - Username" already.

Background:
Usually, Pre-Entry Checks should be removed from the list of available courses (your Assessment Center main page) 7 days after your first attempt.
Unfortunately, they were not removed automatically, and there was no way for users to re-assign by themselves using the Shop function.
Following this, I had to manually re-assign the Pre-Entry Checks (the ones users had initially assigned themselves) to the Assessment Center users.
Luckily, I have figured out the problem quickly today, and I am already in contact with the Assessment Center distributor for a solution.

Solution:
Meanwhile, if any re-assignment is necessary, it will be done by hand by myself.
This means, you can now attend the Pre-Entry Checks again in case you didn't pass them.

Sorry for the inconvenience guys, this was out of my control.
In case you still experience troubles or have any other question, please don't hesitate to ask.

Kind regards,
TOViper

Dear Viggen drivers!

I have some important news for you:
.) Training flight M190-23-0 / Startup procedure (including Taxi) is now released.
.) All training flights have been changed to consider the new training flight as the third in the row.
.) All .miz files of the training flights have been saved with current DCS version 2.9.8.1214.
.) Kneeboards have been reworked, and also to include the airbrake in and out commands.

The new lesson took a very long time to get finished. Not only were there many learning objectives
to build up, but also took the lesson design a considerable amount of hours.
The list of relevant theoretical knowledge for that lesson is a longer than for the other lessons, because many systems are "touched" in certain ways during startup.
Don't fear too much, the list only contains the most important sections of the current RC2.1 manual 🙂

I hope you find it interesting and it works for your without any issues.

Happy landings startups & kind regards 😛
