Lekaa Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 (edited) Hello, I have noticed since the 2.9 that there is something broken with the ATA. I might use wrong words here but i'll do my best to explain. When having a target at my radars gimbal, around 60 Degrees to the right, the Hud indicating where the target is, how many degrees, it suprasses 70 degress while in reality, according to my radar he is still within 70, more like 60 degrees. it's like this everytime, so it's easy to reproduce. Second problem which is also in the same trackfile, the B scope don't always center it self on the trackfile when using AUTO in TWS, I had DTT ( Dual target track ) and i thought it's something to do with it but when i deleted the second contact so i only had one, the B scope was not In BIAS, still in auto and yet it wasn't center on the target. That one happens but not so often but seen it since 2.9 maybe 4-5 times. it's also in the same trackfile. Thank you. Edit : I can't reproduce the gimbal problem anymore with the ATA. but it was the case with the trackfile and when i watched it it wasn't there anymore B scope .trk Edited October 28, 2023 by Lekaa
Solution Tholozor Posted October 28, 2023 Solution Posted October 28, 2023 I didn't see this in any of the changelogs, but it may be that TWS AUTO finally has centroid tracking, where it automatically biases the scan volume to maintain as many trackfiles as possible (provided the L&S is still within it, and regardless of DT2). 1 REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/

Centroid tracking? cool if that's the case
Archer.xd Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 TWS Auto is changed yes. Now it will center on centroid of trackfiles to try to cover as many as possible with prioritizing the L&S. 1

I was already wondering why the TWS went a bit funky Edited October 28, 2023 by boerdi 1
Archer.xd Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 By the looks of it yes. Its actually better vs. the old modelling. To better see how it works you can put up AZ/EL page and place some targets in mission editor at different altitudes and azimuth. 2
Harker Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 Yes, TWS AUTO will now center the scan (azimuth and elevation) on the track centroid, and attempt to maintain as many radar trackfiles as possible. In its current state, it should always keep the L&S in the scan, and other than that, take into account the DT2 and trackfile ranks. It can also choose to convert a 4B scan to a 3 bar scan, or a 6B scan to a 5 bar scan, if it doesn't need the full elevation coverage. 4 The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs.
