What are the best VR headsets (for DCS) on the market right now?

I just sold my QP because of something that I can not live with & gone back to a pervious headset I have owned.

But for sure the QP was a great headset and easy on the system.

I have had 4 vr headsets now, and all have been good in their own way. I went from rift s, to reverb g2, Pimax 8kx and now Pico 4. 
Surprisingly, certainly to me, is that the pico 4 is by far my favorite and also probably the cheapest, which sounds crazy to me. It’s such an outstandingly good value headset, with wonderful image quality from the screens. I find it very comfortable especially compared with the 8kx and the tracking has never once let me down. Running godlike settings and vdxr it’s just so damn good. I bought it initially out of curiosity really as I was tired of the Pimax comfort and pain in the ass setup with tracking base stations and persistent slight double vision due to overlapping.

i was absolutely blown away by how well it works and didn’t even miss the fov of the 8kx.

If u r not already, I'd definitely recommend using vdxr and not bother with streaming assistant.

As what TED says plus try using Quad Views Foveated rendering as this can give you quite a bit performance boost depending on your cpu-gpu combination.

I've had Reverb G1, gave it to my dad, then got a Reverb Omnicept, pretty happy with them both. Just got my hands on a Crystal this evening with a 4090 and  14900. Comfort not awesome but I'll cope. Visual clarity and performance with Quad Views, freaking outstanding.

Be careful with the QuadViews on the Pico. When comparing foveated rendering in OXRTK with QuadViews, I saw a big increase in CPU frame time with QuadViews (from 6-7 ms to >10 ms in demo track). This is on identical replay tracks (Syria, low flying over city with Apache).

Yes. I think this depends on your cpu-gpu combination. With a 4090 many people find that OXRTK FFR works better. But with a 4070 QVFR pushes a lot of work to my 5800x3d and gives a big performance increase.

I have just finished dialling in my pico what can I say very impressed the best part you can pause DCS have tweak and go back to DCS un pause until your happy.

Coming from a QP & other headsets I am happy and the cost makes you feel all warm inside as bonus lol.

I really like the Pico 4 but have been thinking about getting a second hand Q pro. The main reason being eye tracking. What are you impressions on QP Vs Pico 4? I use QVFR in fixed mode for the Pico 4 and the QP would likely give me a performance boost over the Pico 4 as it has lower resolution I can get away with a narrower focus in QVFR. Have you done this sort of comparison?

The good first:

The QP has very nice picture quality and the QVFR is awesome big performance lift and I could not see any narrower focus it just works.

Even thou the resolution is lower the picture quality makes up for it.

The Not so good for me.

At fist I thought the blacks was very good until some pointed out the brown halo effect around the edges lol and once you see it never forgotten, 

Even thou the resolution of the QP is not a problem compared to the pico sharpness its kind a crap lol.

The lenses have edge to edge clarity true but when used looking at cockpit interments etc the binocular over lap is dreadful for ME.

I would never go back to a QP just because of the overlap but if you find a bargain go for it one of the best underrated headset for DCS but not for ME.

If you have Pico 4 , I would stay with that . Using the new  virtual desktop is supposed to be really good .
