It's unreal how many things I have tried, I've gone back to 2.8 for now. While we were talking ED posted a kind of hotfix for the mt.lua file in the thread I attached. Give it a try also take a look in the thread posts. Sure something would help you. 1 A simple Human being's Passion
Checkmate Posted November 23, 2023 Author Posted November 23, 2023 I tried disabling Hyper Threading which did not help at all. The sim is very fluid for me over water and open terrain, but just like the video Jabber showed, if I fly over an airport with AI moving on the ground and get close the sim starts freezing. If you want me to post a video let me know how. I was flying over F-16s and Apaches when the sim started pausing. This happens in any aircraft. My best guess is this must be caused by tectures loading. Not sure why this started happening with Patch 2.9. Watch the video link appove "VRAM Overflow."

My best bet, is that it has something to do with LODs, but that's just a hunch 1 i5-4690K CPU 3.50Ghz @ 4.10GHz; 32GB DDR3 1600MHz; GeForce GTX 1660 Super; LG IPS225@1920x1080; Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB; Windows 10 Pro

T-Pickle Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 Since it happens to me while close to objects (either many simple objects, like buildings in cities, or very detailed objects like aircraft), I am suspecting it may have to do with the way resources are loaded and unloaded. Perhaps too many requests clutter up the VRAM? In a multiplayer mission with another Hind close to me I kept seeing an approximately 10 fps decrease every time it was within view. Unfortunately my fps is already limited to 45 which I barely reach, but in these situations the framerate is in the 30s or even 20s sometimes and produces noticeable stutter in VR. None of the tweaks mentioned so far helped me, not increasing page file size, removing paging or the MT.lua.
ga0358 Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 I tried everything-hitting 30+ fps but those intermittent juerky stutters are driving me nuts! In both VR and non-VR..Really haven't had any issues until I started the Speed and Angels campaign, The first mission starts out fine, but then the hud gets blurry, then everything goes gray, then the screen fades to black, in both VR and Non-VR. Can NOT figure out why. Did everything I know to resolve it, guess I'll have to wait and hope for a patch or fix-Wanted to learn and train in the F-14 with Speed and Angels, but apparently it's not gonna happen..
Prawnler Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Tried everything here and more, no luck. I get a smooth 90 FPS except for when it stutters every 5 seconds or so. 2
frelew Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Seems to work fine when I use the single thread binary. MT is completely unusable for me as it is now with the stuttering. Intel Core i9 13900K-64GB NVIDIA RTX 4090-24GB
TED Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 I have also been getting this recently, since the last update. I’ve been through everything from cores, gpu settings, windows settings. Normally I have a solid 72fps except for when there is a freeze. I noticed that deleting the metashaders file before game significantly delays this. Tried lowering all graphical settings but this did not help. Eventually I went the other way and increased visible range and scenery draw distances with maxing the preload radius and forest visibility. This seems to significantly improve for me and so far no freezes. Something seems to be going awry as dcs populates the shaders and metashaders in game possibly.
Sile Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Seeing this as well. First i thought it might be short lags when flying online, because it felt like these. Then i saw this post. It's worse on the Airfield with buddies surrounding you. And looking around. Get's better in the air and further away from other planes. Maybe there is some connection to this thread:
Pillowcat Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 (edited) Any news? Same here after last update. After previous update it freezes only on MT and on ST was bearable, now it's both NOGO for me Ryzen 5900x, 64GB@3200Mhz, rtx4060Ti@16GB, w10, settings: MSAAx2 other: nomatterwhat - Low/Medium, vsync:on, fullscreen 2560x1440 Tried all voodoomambojabmo suggested here on forum to cure 2.9 like affinity magic, messing with settings, deleting mods(even there was no them ever)/caches/repairing, turning off/on/off settings in bios, clocking/declocking, except sacrificing virgins – nothing helped, and some did worse. I'm assuming its somehow may be connected to the fix of trackrecordings by doubling it rate My experience sample: 2023-12-21_16-19-26-1_reencdd.mp4 Mission used in sample: UAE RED1 ACTUAL-20231203-020029.miz dcs_MT.log dxdiag.txt UPD:Also this may do some cues, or may not, idk: Spoiler Edited December 23, 2023 by Pillowcat 2

The_Nephilim Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 have you tried a clean boot to see if it is external program interfering with DCS?? try running without vsync as well.. Yep, not a cleanboot nor vsync off/on/nv-driver-options-combinations affecting stutter-freezing What clearly affects it – amount of units in the mission: connecting to the "Grim Reapers - Battlegrounds Server UK" server (with current Operation Clear Field v123_rev4j2_ctld_iw and its variants on other maps different from caucasus ) becoming a deathtrap – with 1 frame per 7-10 min right from aircraft selection menu its impossible even to get out to the menu to disconnect, only way is to force shutdown dcs.exe process, and on "Through The Inferno" servers it's 30+ fps without spikes no differ the map is. So, the attached example .miz is the one was buttersmooth™ 40+ fps (on ST .exe variant) before last openbeta update i'd save to play as singleplayer mission due annoying disconnects from Tempest's Blueflash server.
