Radio stops working during mission

Hey there, this is about something I encounter during some longer missions. I'm not sure if it's an F-14-problem, a DCS problem in general of if I accidentally hit some button in a tense dogfight

It sometimes happens, as I said, in longer single player missions, that my radio stops working. I can still hear the radio calls from AI flights, but if I open up the radio menu, you cannot hear the pilot's voice. Also, for example after a call to AWACS to request bogey dope, there's no answer. Also, the carrier does not respond and I get bad grades for not communicating properly. If I order the wingman to change formation, he does not respond, but changes formation, strangely enough. Also the tanker doesn't respond and of course doesn't extend the hose.

Is that a known bug or am I doing something wrong? Sorry I don't have a track file, but maybe some of you know about this, too.

Did you have Easy Comms turned on previously? What keybind do you use for PTT? Backslash, "\" is incorrect, is listed as "Comms Menu", but it's a old keybind and does not work in the air anymore, only on ground. You're radios are obviously tuned correctly, because you can hear other calls.

We need more details. For the pilot radio to work correctly - send messages and hear responses - you have to make sure you have set:

• electric power
• radio and antenna not damaged
• radio function MAIN or BOTH
• radio mode MANUAL or PRESET
• volume level
• correct frequency of the receiver or correct frequency on the channel you set
• use UHF1 microphone PTT switch forward on the throttle
• the receiver has to be alive, friendly and still doing its task (AWACS has to still have the AWACS task, tanker has to still have REFUEL task...)

As I wrote, since I could receive radio transmissions, electric power, radio function and mode as well as volume and frequency must have been working / set up correctly. They were alive, and no enemy units were nearby. I couldnt neither hear my own transmission nor see the subtitle.

Maybe you heard UHF2 comms and/or used wrong PTT button.

Seems i misread your OP. You should definitely get both pilot voice and text even if you use incorrect PTTs. Only thing I can think of is some incorrect modifier like a hold mode instead of a toggle, but then again, you should not get the radio menu. Can you post a screenshot, so we can see which radio the menu uses? I mean, just press prtscrn when the menu is up.

I'll try and make a video next time it happens. Thing is we won't be able to see what triggers it because it happens kinda randomly. But I'll retry the same mission next time.
