The F-22 is facing so many production restrictions and the current trend of conflicts got me thinking...

What will the US Airfroce will look like 20 years from now?

I speculate the F-22 could be reduced in numbers should the production line be closed in the next few years, making their numbers so reduced 20 years from now that the plane could be retired early.

US dependency from oil is not going to be over so soon --despite measures being taken -- I still see attrition with certain midle east lines of thinking that will continue to egnerate the need to combat in highly assimetrical scenarios.

So the US airforce will be facing 2 scenarios. A classinc conventional conflict and down, low and dirty assimetrical warfare.

Withou the F-22 out of the question US would be reduced the F-35's and A-10's (adding to the gunship forces), and without cold war budgets we could see this hardware become the mainstay os US forces for the next 40 years! What you think?

I see little reasons for producing such an aircraft in huge numbers. Having 100-200 is pretty enough to bomb some talibans here and there, to shoot down some kidnapped airliner before it crashes in some skyscraper, or to train pilots.

unmanned aircraft and cheap equipment like the friends the other question that can be asked is what will replace oil and what will be the new centers of interest

I cant think of the commonly known defence term being true, the policy enforcement sound more truthful.

In 40 years time it could get really high tech, for example travelling high in the atmosphere to reach the other side of the globe in half an hour in military terms would mean to launch the precision guided weapons and take out a spread of targets in one path where one wouldn‘t even have to cross the borders.

And no you don’t have to burn the oil to fly high as some of us know that some of the American chaps have used burning rubber to go to space.

Well done on their part.
