Hi. So I have an old pc with intel i7 bought 7 years ago. I also have a nvidia 1080. If I upgrade to nvidia 4070ti will I see any performance improvements? Plan to play at 4K. Or lower resolution if better. What do you think?

hypothetically there will be some improvement i guess. what problems are you having? there are many players still using that graphics card (and some older).

I'm just thinking about playing at 4K for dcs. Maybe in the future ray tracing will be available for dcs. (1080 doesn't do ray tracing). Also hoping to add more graphics options to get a better experience

If you use the NS430 or if you play on some of the really busy multiplayer servers then you need 64GB otherwise 32GB is okay.

I have a 4070TI with a 5800X3D.  This is a very good 1440p gaming combo.  However, DCS MT (MultiThread) can still be a significant load for the capable 5800X3D.

The 4070TI's 192 bit bus could be a performance limiter at 4K.  Also high resolution texture packs at 4K could have a problem fitting into 12GB in the future.    Maybe the rumored "4070TI Super" next year will have 16GB with a 256 bit bus.

Hi dude!

I think at 4k with the 4070 Ti you will have to reduce some of the settings to run smooth. I recently got my 4070 Ti. I'm using it with an i7 12700k and 64Gb ram. I built this PC thinking about running 2k. To me it's perfect. I'm getting, close to the ground, with the AH-64, in Syria, an average of 80 and 90 fps 99.9% of the time, with everything at maximum, without needing to use DLSS, using MSAA 4x. In the sky, I easily get above 100. However, over Baghdad or very dense cities and flying the AH-64 with FLIR and TADS turned on, it drops to around 40 and 50 fps. With they off, 70 fps. If I use DLAA (without DLSS), my performance up around 20%, some time 30% more.

Another thing. These tests were all in multiplayer. At all times, all 12Gb of VRAM are used and more 40Gb RAM in some servers.

So I think for 4k you will have to reduce the settings. Maybe with DLAA with DLSS you won't need it. But if I thought about 4k, I would point to a 4080 if you want to play with everything at max. My opinion. What I can guarantee is that for 2k it is great for the 4070 Ti.

Let's see if anyone comes up with another 4070 Ti running at 4k to give us a real look.

Seeya!
