Analconda Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 As the title clearly states, the Hornet's external lights (formation, position and strobe) are not working after a cold start, but if you get an airstart they will work just fine. This has started in the latest MT build (2.9.1.48335)

This has started in the latest MT build (2.9.1.48335) Since one of the last couple of builds the EXT LIGHTS MASTER switch is no longer ON by default. You now have to manually turn it on yourself in a cold start if you want external lights.

skippy12094 Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 Hi everyone. I am flying the Operation Plutonium made uploaded by !Spike. Everything seemed to be going well until I go the most recent update. I have had the same issue on both release and Open Beta. What I see when I do the cold start is the switch for the strobe is in the Brt position. sometimes, and I can't figure out when, the lights will work once I start the jet. I did notice the last time I go the lights to work was on Friday afternoon 12/8/23. I noticed as the strobe was flashing, I hit my binding for the Arresting hook to come down and as it came down it killed my lights. When I retracted the hook, the lights shimmered for a sec then came back on. This behavior seemed to be repeatable. Today, 12/9/23, no more lights... no matter what I do. Its not a binding issue because I have remapped everything and I have even went in with a blank profile and still nothing... Its def a hit or miss kind of thing. I started thinking it was because I didn't have the checkbox checked "Synchronize all cockpit with hotas at start" or something to that effect, you know the setting... Its in the Misc. category. I don't get it and there isn't a lot of chatter that I am seeing out there about this. Is there a fix for this? Any help would be great as I am driving myself nuts to get this working.... Now its just bugging me and I need to find the fix.... Maybe in the config file for the fa18c? I'll look there next. Thanks
rob10 Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 It would be really helpful if you posted at trackfile of this happening otherwise we are guessing blindly what your problem is. There is the option to save the track file when you end the mission. Keep it as short as possible to show the issue. Are you turning the EXT LIGHTS MASTER switch ON? It is no longer turned on by default so could be at least part of the issue. Is it only happening in this mission? Do you have any mods installed? Have you tried doing a REPAIR?
