JesterIsDead Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 (edited) I know this mission is bugged somewhat, but what is supposed to happen? Do I follow Olive or fly ahead? There is a ZSU23 I had to take out on the way. Then once I get to the crash site, there is another in the compound, then trucks roll out and took it out with a Maverick. I had Olive strafe the troops, she ends up dying. Not sure why, no one shot her. I got shot pretty bad attacking the compound with the CBU and lost 2000lbs of fuel. My plane can barely fly, Olive is dead, the Clementines are farting around. I had to RTB and found no tanker. I ditched near the Tarawa. Mission failed. JesterIsDead Posted December 24, 2023 Author Posted December 24, 2023 New bug I think. Clementines never takes off after Knight calls for SAR. Checked in using F10 and spacebar. Flew to crash site but Clementines remain on the carrier. flyboyzz1 Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 Ok, I have tried the short and long form of the mission yesterday and the Clemtine flight doesn’t actually takeoff from the ship nor does the mission move forward.

OK - it is internally fixed, but there was no update in January and that is why I thought I submitted it. Fix will be out with February patch. RoddersAndDodders Posted March 2, 2024 Posted March 2, 2024 Hi guys - OK so this mission again - it's really complex so I am not surprised it is difficult to get working. The Helos are taking off again which is great. 1st issue - Bucket 74 doesn't give me much fuel at all before he just pulls his basket and goes to land at (is it Rene Mouawad?) as if fuel diverting. This means that by the time that I am relieved, I am basically coming out of the area with < 2000lbs of fuel. By the time the replacement Bucket 74 is available I am at 900 when plugging, and I have punched all of my remaining stores (tanks and Zuni pod). So yeah I went first. I was trying to be fuel conscious the whole time but the PICKs really forced me to use some up. To be honest I was expecting the fuel state to be reported and maybe those Harriers could have been in a bit earlier? 2nd issue - I downed a PICK with a 120. The other one I shot two AIM-9s at and they missed for flares (suckers), so I gunned him, needing two passes. After the 2nd one is shot down, I get a line saying that the first one is shot down and the second one is heading home...which isn't what happened so that probably didn't help my fuel state. 3rd issue - after that I get Olive to plug and she does so for like 2 seconds then flies off somewhere. I just head towards home and eventually Flip says thanks for the drink. I get the message to switch marshal eventually, but it seems like someone is hot mike and blocking the channel and I can't raise mother. In fact, all channels on Comm 1 are blocked. If I manually enter marshal on Comm 2 and try it, also blocked. Even then, with so little fuel when plugging, having less than 4K is not a lot to get to the carrier and land but it is do-able. And bonus issue - was I missing a message about going on station just before the APC and trucks? I just get a prompt to reply. Sometimes it seems like the radio is cutting out due to distance or something? In the end though I got the experience of the mission if not the recovery. The concept of the mission is really good and it's a very fun mission. Have I perhaps done something wrong that contributed to my issues?

I'll have a look again. Weird with the fuel, because the tanker is set to unlimited fuel and should not have trouble like this. Smells to me like another AI tanker DCS bug and if it is, may be out of my hands to solve it. I'll have a look still. For more information, please visit my website. dimanizer Posted July 1 Posted July 1 @baltic_dragon just playing it now and I too have fuel bugs: 1. on first refuel, bucket doesn't give much - definetly stops before full tank 2. on second refuel, I sent Olive first then it wouldn't give me any fuel at all I've also had the Clementines not proceed past the ridge - one went and landed somewhere and the other just circle around. Cool mission... too bad I can't finish it
