BluePhantom Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 I recently configured my anti-virus to allow DCS. In doing so, it seems to have switched me to the DCS stable version. I have been running the Open Beta for years. The game keeps creating a DCS folder under Saved Games and ignores the DCS.Openbeta folder. How do I get the game back to being in Open Beta mode?
Maverick87Shaka Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 the folder name used inside the Saved Games doesn't necessary says the actual version that you are running. To be sure to use the OpenBeta, go on the installation folder of DCS, open the file autoupdate.cfg and make sure ( or change ) branch to "openbeta" FlighRIG => CPU: RyZen 5900x | RAM: 64GB Corsair 3000Mhz | GPU: nVIDIA RTX 4090 FE | OS Storage: SSD NVMe Samsung 850 Pro 512GB, DCS Storage: SSD NVMe Sabrent 1TB | Device: Multipurpose-UFC, VirPil T-50, TM WARTHOG Throttle, TrackHat, MFD Cougar with screen. Solution BluePhantom Posted January 12, 2024 Author Solution Posted January 12, 2024 (edited) Hmm, very strange. You are right. I am still running the Open Beta version. What seems to have happened is that the game now creates a "DCS" folder under Saved Games and uses it. My Saved Games folder has been "DCS.Openbeta" for years and was still like that after the last DCS update. Now, it uses only "DCS". The only change I can think of in the meantime was making the change in my anti-virus software. I moved all my Saved Games files from the DCS.Openbeta to DCS folder, and it now works normally. Thank you for you help. Edited January 12, 2024 by BluePhantom
