  1. Hmm, very strange. You are right. I am still running the Open Beta version. What seems to have happened is that the game now creates a "DCS" folder under Saved Games and uses it. My Saved Games folder has been "DCS.Openbeta" for years and was still like that after the last DCS update. Now, it uses only "DCS". The only change I can think of in the meantime was making the change in my anti-virus software. I moved all my Saved Games files from the DCS.Openbeta to DCS folder, and it now works normally. Thank you for you help.
  2. I recently configured my anti-virus to allow DCS. In doing so, it seems to have switched me to the DCS stable version. I have been running the Open Beta for years. The game keeps creating a DCS folder under Saved Games and ignores the DCS.Openbeta folder. How do I get the game back to being in Open Beta mode?
  3. Thanks for the suggestion. I will use this next time it happens. In the meantime, I made sure DCS was allowed in my anti-virus SW. It seemed to be missing. Perhaps that was it.

For the past year I have been experiencing an issue whereby something happens and I lose my saved login data for the DCS World game itself and for the ED home site (e.g., "user files", "change log"). Usually this is after Windows updates. The problem is not that something happens to the stored or cached login information, it is the fact that neither the game nor the ED home site offers any option to log in again. If I try to go to the User Files page, all that happens is the bloody tab just keeps turning for eternity. No error. No please entry your log in information. Nothing. In the case of the game, it loads up but logs in in standalone mode ("The web site is not available . . ."). Once in the game, I can logout but, again, but there is no option to provide login credentials log back in. It just kicks me out to the desktop. The only solution is for me to clear my browser history/cache and restart the computer. This is very annoying and time consuming, as I must log back into every other web site just because of DCS. To be clear, this is not a browser problem because it does NOT happen with any other program web site or game. ONLY DCS.

  9. Has anyone been able to successfully take off from an aircraft carrier? The launch works perfectly fine. I am talking about getting enough momentum to keep the plane airborne after launch. No matter what I do, I crash into the ocean a few hundred meters after leaving the carrier.
  10. Version 2.9 is a disaster. The MT freeze or sluggishness upon game load is even worse now. Occasionally it works, but usually it does not. I have removed all mods, both aircraft and tech, and still it does this. I also have an RTX 3000 series GPU. I have seen nothing from ED indicating that they are interested in fixing this serious issue. Very disappointing.
  11. It's working now. Your comment helped me troubleshoot. Not sure what happened, but I think some command or series of commands disabled the keypad. Weird. hanks for your help.
  12. Does anyone know why the DSMS settings page will not allow me to set the LS time for lasing the GBU-12s? I am able to do it in a weapons practice mission I created, but in another mission created some time ago, I am unable to set any time for LS Time. The keyboard does not show any signs of registering inputs and when I push the button next to LS Time, nothing happens. It stays at zero. I made sure the DSMS MFD was SOI. Still same results.
  13. I have been having this problem for at least four months. Extremely irritating. I thought at first it was VR-related, but it is MT in both VR and standard. For me, it is usually worst after I have not used the program for many hours, e.g., overnight. First time I fire it up, it takes about 3 or 4 or 5 reboots to get it working properly. Once working normally, it seems to be stable for a while. I should add that, once working normally, it works normally regardless of what mods I may have in my Saved Games directory and the game locks up/stutters immediately upon loading the main menu screen. I have run it with all mods removed and with them in. They do not seem to make a difference. I sincerely hope this can be remedied because currently it is becoming a deal breaker. I no longer feeling like fighting with DCS for 15 minutes every day when I first start it up. Ridiculous. Attached are a bunch of log files. I don't think they will help since the game never gets anywhere or does anything when it bogs down. Update: Please note that I need to amend one of my earlier statements. I did some more investigating and found that, indeed, some mods were creating a loading problem. At least in my case. Some of the better known are the Cuesta Bros. Rafale (Evolution pack II 2.8.7 2023), the Eurofighter Typhoon, the FA-18E, and from VSN the A7E Corsair, the F-105, the Mirage III and the Tornado. Most other VSN mods work okay.   16. Possibly. But I removed all mods and added them back in slowly. This was the mod that created the problem in my case. Maybe this mod clashes with another mod, but since this is the mod that causes the problem for me, I have removed it.
  17. Same here. I discovered that this mod erases all ground units (esp. infantry) from both the game (F1) view and the theater map (F10). Had to remove it, which is a shame because I was fond of the JAS39. I should add that it appeared to be working until one of the recent DCS updates.
  18. You do know that forces in the real world deal with LOS all the time. The only radios that work everywhere all the time are satellite waveforms, which entail a whole other level of encryption and access time. 50W would normally be a maximum amount in an airborne unit. Not having perfect radio comma is part of the fog of war.
  19. Thanks, guys. It was, in fact, a conflict with the F-15E mod. I was aware of that I needed to get rid of any such mods, but I had failed to delete one folder and that created a conflict. Interesting that it only affected the rudder. Oh, well, all is well now. @Phantom_Mark: I always clear the ED default values in new controllers. They are worse than useless. I spend so much time deleting those default bindings. Wish they would just leave them all blank.
  20. What's up with the rudder? Most of the devices have the red exclamation mark for the rudder. The game recognizes my Thrustmaster rudder pedals, but does not map them (it sees the axis, but there is no response when moving the pedals). Windows sees the rudder pedals as do other mods in DCS, so it's something with the F-15E. In game, I have no rudder authority at all.
  21. A certain WWII flight sim that shall remain nameless has implemented a quite good, consistent, fully flexible replay system. Hmmm. How many years has this been an issue in DCS?
  22. I think I figured it out. What was confusing me was the fact that a large number of my Tech options are from mods and not ED. The mod options are always available for selection whereas the ED selections are period and country specific. So, as you suggested, if I select UK and the right time frame, then I get a British infantry man, pre-1945. Same for US and Germany. Strangely, no Soviet soldiers from the period are available. In a specific case, I created a mission for the Korean War. As such, I wanted to use Chinese soldiers with single-shot weapons. The closest you can come is semi-automatic/automatic AK-47s. I am getting around this by having the Chinese become German Mauser 98s. Inaccurate as hell, but much more balanced in terms of fire power. I just wish ED would step up their support for the Warbird era a bit more. At least they were kind enough to include some WWII missions in the latest update. Thanks for your help, all.
  23. No, that isn't it. I forgot to mention that I had the historical filter turned off. If I turn it on, (Pre-1945), the only option I have is the Infantry M1 Garand, an American soldier. That is already available without the filter. No German infantry, no British, etc. And since it is an ED module and not third party, I don't think my installation location or method is the issue. Oh, well, thank you for the reply in any case.
