In an OBST situation, OBST appears on the HUD, but it means that the OBST Warning light and the OBSTACLE AHEAD voice warning are not activated.
Rainmaker Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Yeah, IIRC, the light and VW have never been enabled to this point. I don’t think they have ever come on.

OBST Warning light and OBSTACLE AHEAD are for an obstacle ahead, ie a close danger in the direct aircraft trajectory OBST HUD cues mean there is an obstacle to the right or left of the aircraft trajectory. Not ahead. It's a cue to avoid turning right or left, if you still do so it could turn to an OBSTACLE AHEAD warning. In Auto TF, it will generally not put the aircraft in an OBSTACLE AHEAD situation unless with late detection. And it does reduce the turn rate automatically for left and right OBST cues. Please ask in the general forum first, that's likely not a bug that you are encountering. Edited January 22, 2024 by Kercheiz 1

After listening to your advice and doing further study, I realized that HUD OBST and OBSTACLE WARNING are different things. Thank you for that. In the future, I will make sure to ask questions first before posting. (However, I'm not sure where this general forum is located...) Therefore, I deliberately tested the OBSTACLE. An OBSTACLE appeared at the top of the HUD FPM and a Voice warning saying "OBSTACLE AHEAD!" was triggered. However, the OBST WARNING LIGHT on the upper right side of the cockpit still does not illuminate. this warning light does not turn on even when I perform a w/c/a light test, but I'm not sure if this is intentional or if there is an issue preventing the light from turning on.
Galinette Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Thanks, I will ask about that light to SMEs. I was not aware about a light in the front seat, but only the back one. So remember : OBSTACLE AHEAD is an alarm. Danger in the aircraft path. This requires a flyup. OBST right/left is a caution signalling an obstacle not directly in the aircraft path. This advises you to avoid turning on that side. 1
Solution Galinette Posted January 25, 2024 Solution Posted January 25, 2024 The front seat light was fixed for next update. 1
