pbsmgm Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I can employ ATGMs, Rockets and Cannons just fine. But I cannot seem to drop one single bomb. What is the config to drop a bomb? I am sure it's a simple question. Asus X99 II, i7-6850k, GTX 1080, 32GB RAM, M.2/SSD Drives, Win10-64
Zorg_DK Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 you need to hold down the pickle button a few seconds. if you switch to external view, you can see the canisters start to open as soon as you press the pickle button. pbsmgm Posted April 4, 2009 Author Posted April 4, 2009 (edited) I am assuming you mean the "release weapon" button. But I am asking for the config because I cannot get a bomb to drop wheather I hold it or not, which is the premise of my question. In essence, what is the config? KillaALF Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Pickle button is indeed an aviation term for the weapons release button. http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/3227/jargon.htm http://www.dreamlandresort.com/info/aviation_glossary.html
pbsmgm Posted April 4, 2009 Author Posted April 4, 2009 ok, thanks everyone for giving me a new term......But can we now actually answer the question? Thanks. Asus X99 II, i7-6850k, GTX 1080, 32GB RAM, M.2/SSD Drives, Win10-64
arneh Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Make sure you are high enough. Bombs have a minimum release altitude and won't release if you're below that altitude. And as others have mentioned, you need to hold the pickle button for a while before the bombs drop.
joey45 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 either read the manual [aka RTFM] or watch the producers notes... The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. pbsmgm Posted April 4, 2009 Author Posted April 4, 2009 (edited) either read the manual [aka RTFM] or watch the producers notes... In the manual it states Inner Outer or all....And I am not getting the release with any of those settings. Katash Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Perhaps if you lost the attitude and stopped insulting people this thread would be more productive - I DO play the game in "real mode" and the bomb release works EXACTALLY as stated above by numerous people.
AlphaOneSix Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Post a track of you trying to release a bomb and failing. Then we can see what you're settings are, and see what you may have forgotten.
EinsteinEP Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 (edited) "Fear leads to Anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." - Yoda. pbsmgm, I haven't tried releasing bombs before, but we'll need more info before we can help you. Alpha's advice is good, post us a track. And include what mission you're on, your loadout, and step by step what you're doing: *EXAMPLE* Training mission umptyfrats.miz with #### loadout... Weapon release button mapped to known key/joystick button? check! Weapon System Power is on? check! K041 is on? check! Altitude above minimum (dunno what minimum is, but 300m is sure to be a safe altitude)? check! Correct hardpoint selected? check! Master ARM is on? check! Cannon is off? check! Holding weapon release button for 1...2...3...4...5... [edit: just loaded up 4 FAB-500s via the Maintenance radio menu, used the LWIN+Home start cheat, took off to an altitude of 200m, clicked Master ARM on and held down the pickle switch for almost 5 seconds before the things went, but they went. I'd suggest waiting a LOT longer and make sure your pickle switch binding isn't letting go after a short period of time.] [edit edit: Did it again, but this time the wait time was maybe a second or two at the max. Must not have been holding down the switch as well as I had thought the first time] Edited April 5, 2009 by EinsteinEP Shoot to Kill. Play to Have Fun.
