secretcode Posted February 4, 2024 Posted February 4, 2024 Hello guys, I've been flying as a rio and I've been having a few issues with INS. I know how to ground align and everything is ok, I put the NAV mode to GND, add the plane coordinates (from the kneeboard) and wait for the INS to align, then change the NAV mode to INS. but then sometimes when I try to add a waypoint or navgrid looks like the INS messes up because I add a waypoint and on the TID it appears right on top of my aircraft! I am not really sure what is going on. So my question is: Can you ruin the INS even after a successful alignment? if so, is there anyway to fix it? I know you can do a TACAN INS fix but I think that is only for minor deviations that accumulate with time flying and maneuvering.

Yes, if you're not careful you'll update your position by accident instead of WP input. Make a habit of using CLEAR button more. From Manual: Quote First pressing CLEAR is to make sure to reset any previously selected readout so that a subsequent press of a prefix sets a new readout for display and data entry and not enters new data into a previous readout instead. BonerCat Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 (edited) Yeah, the CAP panel will let you freely adjust your own coordinates If that happends your best option is a nav fix, should adjust your own coordinates to fit your actual position, provided its executed properly tho i've heard of some people manually adjusting coordinates as well. Cant imagine that being very effective in flight, tho its a reasonable way to fix your position while stationary i suppose Edited February 7, 2024 by BonerCat 2 Modules: F-14, F-15C, F-16C, F/A-18C, M-2000C, A-10C, A-10C II, AV-8B N/A, MiG-29, Su-33, MiG-21 Bis, F-5E, P-51D, Ka-50, Mi-8, Sa 342, UH-1H, Combined Arms Maps and others: Persian Gulf, Syria, Normandy, WWII Assets, NS 430 + Mi-8 NS 430
