shaggy Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I have a very big web domain which I don't use to basically more than some file hosting and 1 forum. I think we could use it as a global website for modders. Like we have simmod, me and crow the Nordic 3d team, we have ada mod etc etc. i could create different sections for different groups etc, and it could be very usefull having many modders at one place. The website name is virtualavia aswell so its very easy to remember. Its worth thinking about maybe? . Im happy to help in any way i can to get simmoders online again. Though if its a simple fix for your forum then that is ok :) . Im working on the website right now and should have it up and running in a couple of days. borchi_2b Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 hmm, well originally simmoders was created from grandsurf and yeniceri, so we would have to ask them to have permission to use the name. i do not know how the old simmod team will decide. important for me as an old member of that group is the fact that the page is not going down every year. SKF what do you think. @shaggy: the idea is great to have all togehter at one spot, so we have a huge base of knowledge at one house. you would have to ask all the other groups if they are willing to join in on such a huge page. my suggestion would be also one part of that page where only registered modders and 3d designers could get access to and have a look at a collection of documents that are made from 3d artists for 3d artists. this way we could all stretch our knowledge of making stuff for the lomac engine and make better models with way greater results in the end and maybe can do stuff for the DCS engine too. but first we have to figure if simmod will ever be back online. and if the other groups would join too if something that big would be started. one thing that i learned from the past is, that there needs to be organisation through the whole process of a model, which ever it may be http://www.polychop-sims.com
SuperKungFu Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 has it been 1 year already since the first sim-mod page? I sent an e-mail to Yeniceri, let's wait until his response. If not we would have to create a new domain so we can continue our work. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
