Mine has an enormous sloooy section in the middle, like my Winwing F16 EX throttle antenna elevation wheel.

Already looking for a another brand

If there is a mechanical “deadzone” or free play due to oil damper I would check if everything is tightened as it should be - collar on the damper sometimes arrives very loose. If that doesn’t help you can check the oil damper movement by detaching it and moving it by hand. If it has a “deadzone” you should contact Winwing, they should send you a new one.

Arrived just now. Great Pedals so far. But I cant bring the full motion of the RZ axis, the main rudder axis, into play. Its set to 100% but they have 2 or 3 cm more travel until they hit their physical maxium travel.

Would be nice to get a 1:1 resolution for very sensitve jets on the ground like the F16. I know, DCS axis tuning. But nope. That was the reason for pedals with that huge amount of travel, to get rid of any axis tuning.

For the toe brakes it works just fine. I can use the entire travel range of them.

I find them perfectly viable for controlling the F-16 on the ground. I haven't messed with the travel settings at all, just did the calibration on them and set a slight curve in DCS. I find that you just have to have a bit of a light foot when using them with the 16, but I haven't had much difficulty especially compared to the T-Flight rudders I was using previously. As with most things in DCS, it is about figuring out how to best use your tools within the framework of the controls and learn how to control fine motions to best keep your plane under your control. The F-16 is particularly sensitive when it comes to rudders because of the way the wheels are designed on what ends up being a rather top heavy plane on a narrow wheel base.
