Installation Problem - Updater searches for updates then stops

Hi,

Trying to do a new install on a new PC.  I started a couple of days ago, then my 5GHz wi-fi went down yesterday, so just did a little bit yesterday.  i have stopped and started the Updater about 3 times.  Today I got home from work, reset the wi-fi to get the 5GHz working again, then not long after opened up updater the updater as Administrator.  It should have only had about 14GB or so left to download.  Now it just searches for updates, then shuts down after about 2 minutes.  This has occurred 5 times now.  Same happens if I try to run the game, which I guess just runs the updater first anyway.

Here are the messages from the autoupdate_templog:

Any ideas please?  I really don't want to spend another 3 days trying to install this for the third time on my new PC.  Installed it once successfully a few weeks ago, but then had to do a full Windows reinstall.

Thanks

As i and others can´t login , may be that the server is down.

It may be.  I did consider that due to some of the error messages.  Thanks for the info.

Any reason you haven't tried with a cable yet?

No cable currently.  Wifi is sufficient.  not great, but sufficient.  About 50 Mb/s.

Sure, but if you have issues with wireless, wired should be the first troubleshooting step IMHO. Also I assume you ment 50MBps. 'Cause that's quite a substantial difference. What's your ISP speed?
I doubt think downtime of authentication server affects updates but who knows?
Cheers!

I do mean 50Mb/s.  I'm in Australia, and yes, our internet is that crap 😅.  I don't have wired set up at all.  Currently living with others and we have a router to share the internet.  The incoming connection is nowhere near my PC.   In any case, there is no problem with my internet.  There is either a problem with the install or with the servers.  I'm hoping it's the latter.

Cheers

For me the updater isn't working either. Different error log. "invalid character in json text":
