Gizzy Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 Perhaps should be in the ME section but possible may get more attention here, if not I'm sure the MODs will move it.. Most of our missions run with 4 full SQNS of 3 x 4 - 12 ships. To get the most out of the excellent datalink sharing available each plane needs to be programmed with correct members and groups. No issue here, the work is worth it however on at least 50% of entering the data into a SQN and moving to the next, the group data disapears and has to be redone. The only work around is is a file file save after every section, a bit of a pain. Obviously the best way is to use a template but again on reloading the template, despite having all the relevant aircraft, the group data is missing.... back to square one... Perhaps someone would look at this please, would make life a lot simpler.... Kind Regards Chris https://carrierairwing.co.uk/
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted February 26, 2024 ED Team Posted February 26, 2024 Hi Gizzy, can you make a video showing what you see happening, and attach your dcs log from a session when it happens so we can look for potential gui errors. it maybe worth trying without any unofficial mods also just to rule those out. When we test all seems normal and working as intended. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Gizzy Posted February 27, 2024 Author Posted February 27, 2024 @BIGNEWY Thanks for coming back promptly BN, see video below which shows several groups losing their assigned members. we normally run with 3 x 12 ship SQNs so a template is the ideal solution but fill in 3 x 12 ship with data and save as a template, all group data is lost on import - if indeed it was saved in the first instance, Video below. About 3/4 the way through I revisit several divisions and the group data has gone. Only workaround is to file save after filling each division.... Template we use attached also. We use lua to dress the deck with furniture bit that is not relevant here.... Kind Regards Chris https://carrierairwing.co.uk/ CAW_Carrier_Group_All_Cats_Caucasus_v7 (2).stm
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted February 27, 2024 ED Team Posted February 27, 2024 Hi Gizzy, I have checked with the team and it is working as intended for templates. You will need to input the DL on each new use as they are effectively new unit being added and not exact clones. thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Gizzy Posted February 27, 2024 Author Posted February 27, 2024 (edited) @BIGNEWY Thanks Mate, Okay that defines the template capabilities ..... BUT watch the video..... all SQNS are fully populated..... around the 5:00 mark I do back and check..... Devil 1 and Joker 1 group names have all vanished...... I did not check them all..there may be others .. so possibly something is not right - sure as mentioned workaround is to save after each SQN input then they do not get lost... but sure adds the time... Edit: In hindsight its not a huge biggie as we will probably use a basic miz file with all correctly configured and then use that as a base for op miz's.....
