Punkmonkey22 Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 Hi, Am I right in thinking there has been changes to the flight model of the Macchi? Might be placebo, but she feels more lively, builds airspeed quicker than I remember, and generally seems more "sporty". I've started using it again to improve my flying and attack basics in prep for the Phantom, and having a blast! Thanks 4

BJ55 Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Are you still able to enter a flat spin? I've tried all my best but I'm unable to stall the AC or to make it depart, rudder and elevator authority seem too weak. I've tried all my best but I'm unable to stall the AC or to make it depart, rudder and elevator authority seem too weak.Hi, the MB-339 is designed to not enter at all in a spin. The MB-339 can be placed in a spin condition by forcing it with the rudder but you won't be able to perform a total spin. The aircraft will maintain a down nose and if you release the flight controls (centralize them) the aircraft is able to recover autonomously from the spin. The aircraft has been designed like that because as trainer must be safe for pilots with any skills, from basic since advanced.Anyway, the above is also reported in the authentic MB339 Flight Manual.Inviato dal mio SM-F731B utilizzando Tapatalk 5 MB339 EFM Coder Frecce Tricolori Virtuali [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
BJ55 Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 (edited) Yep, I know, if at 300kts I go vertical, then left aileron roll, cut the throttle and push the stick forward with max right rudder until 110-120kts it does at least three stall spins like in the track below, actually I find really difficult to pratice the spin described in the manual, once reached the 110kts the nose points down at 90° and there's no much the elevator and rudder can do. Invece con la "volo folle" si comporta bene. BJ55 Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 (edited) Apologize for the wrong term (flat) in the first question, was a moment of confusion after the "goose slaughtering" while testing other modules Did some more tests and came to the conclusion that maybe I've hit a DCS flight dynamics limit, after all it's not a Digital Aerobatics Simulator, by the way, among all trainers, I think that the MB339 has the best FM. You can make them very close but never perfect. In our opinion, the important is that a FM matches all the flight performances that are the conditions who majority of users fly in.Inviato dal mio SM-F731B utilizzando Tapatalk 2 MB339 EFM Coder Frecce Tricolori Virtuali [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Glide Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Oh my! There are two things I love in DCS: river racing up the Poti on the Caucasus map, and terrain masking in the Apache along roads and rail lines (especially at night). I have a third now: do both those things in the MB339. I can't get over how wonderful the rudder action is on this beauty! Well done! 2
