Ramstein Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Why don't people use the Cockpits and HOTAS for joystick discussions? I see lots of posts about joysticks that should be in the proper forums. Also, people post non-bug questions and info in the Problems and Bugs forum. I am being anal about this, but it messes up the forums if posts are wherever people like posting in the wrong subjects. I suppose the mods are not frustrated al that much, so I guess it shouldn't bother anyone else. I would put a sticky up that says, please use the joystick forum for joystick questions. In the joystick forum I would put a sticky with the URL addresses for the Joystick products reminding people to check there for info and the latest drivers and software, before posting questions. :joystick: That would save them time and trouble and would save us from repeating the same info over and over and over and over... IMHO ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
Feuerfalke Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Probably for the same reason nobody reads the stickies or uses the search-button before posting. I guess some people just think they are the first to have problems, the first to want something and the first to post some 'news'. :smilewink: MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
Lav69 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Maybe peeps see DCS first on the main forums page and thats where they intended to post so they don't look any further? Maybe we shouldn't be so intense about such trivial bs? Maybe we should let the mods worry about such things?
Yskonyn Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Like Lav said, I don't think we're in the position to make demands. ;) The mods are here to enforce forum rules. Let them handle it. Mods will move a misplaced thread, as has been done a lot lately. But while you're at it you might suggest in a polite manner to next time post in the correct forum to the poster who misplaced his/her thread. Nothing wrong in some guidance, lest it remains civil and polite. GuntiNDDS Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 really, who cares. if you'r not interested in a topic regarding a bug or a jostick question, don't read it. regardless in what sub-forums its located. its not like this place is crowded with hundrets of threads a day.

Ummm what a silly thing to say... Just because one condition exist... you don't follow the guidelines? :thumbup:Dumbs Up! My mission is to fly, fight, and win. o-:|:-o What I do is sometimes get a tin of soup, heat it up, poach an egg in it, serve that with a pork pie sausage roll.
ogiedogg Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Normally I wouldn't have even finished reading a post like this but as someone who just made this mistake. Please remember and try to remain civil as not everybody is an expert and there are many forums out there. Also you may turn someone who is new off to the forum, we all at some point and time were new..... Just some thing to think about.
Ramstein Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 I really didn't expect this thread to touch off so many posts thinking I am nuts for asking.. ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
Sharkster64 Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I think your comment is a little off base. I'm sure that one time while using this forum you have placed threads in the wrong place one time or another. You were a newbie at one time as well. You got to remember, DCS just came onto store shelves in North America, so we have got a brand new batch of newbies that are trying to learn this sim. They are going to flood this forum with a lot of old questions that have already been answered. There are a lot of newbies out there that have probably never been on a forum until now. They will learn just as you have where to put their threads. I think you need to cut them some slack and let the Mods deal with placing threads in their proper places. If you don't feel like reading or answering a thread just skip past it. :music_whistling: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Call Sign: Warhammer
