Mission 1 fails every time for not staying within 3 miles

What's the secret to Mission 1?

I follow the instructions to enter from the west using waypoints 4 and 5, then he says to start a low pass, then before I can even reach the airshow area the mission fails for not staying within 3 miles.

How do I fail for not staying within 3 miles if I haven't even arrived at the airshow area? I initiate everything immediately when he says to.

Unfortunately there is no secret it is a bug. I have already placed a warning on this forum under bugs.

There was a bug initially in DCS which I fixed. Which meant replacing a lot of lines of script. Unfortunately made a mistake on one which has caused the current problem. Have already fixed it and it is with ED and will be in next update.

I ran in the same trouble. U can use the "skip mission" option, then the next mission should pop up.

Also, how do you skip the mission? When it fails a female voice starts counting down (only 5 seconds) but the Comms menu doesn't work so there's no way to select anything.

In the campaign mission selection list when you're deciding what to fly there is an option there to SKIP mission rather than fly next one.  It's in the selection menu, not within the mission itself.

@Badger633 Nah mate, that skip option is also nice for weekend warrior loosers like me who kinda get stuck in a mission and cannot proceed

Is it possible to upload the mission file here directly so we don't have to wait for ED?
Can you also ping Millennium 7* and ask him to make OTIS behave better in the future?  

(I'm also not a huge fan of those huge banners that get pulled over your eyes and mission-failed conditions that pull you out of the mission instead of at least letting you land. I had that problem as well with the first Serpent's Head campaign - it's quite immersion-breaking)

Sorry, we are not allowed to issue out protected mission files, hopefully the update should be soon.

Note your comment regarding the mission fails but suppose the other side of the coin is a lot of pilots would be put out if you were allowed to fly all the way back to the carrier only to be told you had failed.
