Dr.Cure Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 (edited) Greetings gentlemen, I need some help in the determining the cause of my dcs crash every time I try to take off my headset for a while, then put it back again (toilet break for example). Currently, I'm using a gaming laptop (legion 7 with RTX 3070) and Quest 2 with Oculus tray tool (all in-game settings are either off or low end by the way, with the exception of textures and visibility range which are medium settings). Below are pictures of my Oculus tray tool settings and a notepad containing the DCS log as well. Any help or suggestion is graciously appreciated, gentlemen...thank you for your attention Note = this problem has been happening for quite a while now, since last year everytime I try to take a toilet break (while taking off headset then put it on again), the game still resumes its activity dcs.log Edited March 26, 2024 by Dr.Cure typo Phantom Phorever
dugite57 Posted March 27, 2024 Posted March 27, 2024 The games working fine in VR, but crashes when you take it off is a common problem. It got hosed in one of the meta or DCS updates some time ago. There's a big thread on it somewhere.I overcome this by fiting a bit of sticky note paper over the "face sensor", this enables me to take a break without crashing the game. Just remeber to take it off when finished or else the headset won't shut down.

BTW happens also with Quest 3 with or without OpenXR Toolkit with cable or airlink.
Lange_666 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 It's the Turbo set to ON setting in OpenXR Toolkit when running DCS in MT that causes the game to crash when taking the headset off. In ST there is no such problem. Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

wilso Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 (edited) Only fix i have for it is covering the sensor inside the headset for my Quest 2 and In headset settings before using link i set it to stay awake for 4 hours if inactive. With regard's too the sensor it needs to be fully covered so no light is detected, hence why i double taped it. Edited July 14, 2024 by wilso
