You cannot download from Orbx. Orbx have updated the page around that.

You can just purchase a key there for the ED store, or buy it directly from the ED store. For steam, you need to purchase via steam

The orbx website here does not list the price of kola map! If the price is really $55.9, it's really not cheap. After all, DCS's Afghanistan map is huge and only costs about $49.

The full price of the Afghanistan map is $69.99 so pre-order is 30% discount at $48.99. Early access price will be $55.99; a 20% discount.

The full price of the Kola map is $69.99. it is not available as pre-order, just as early access for a 20% discount of $55.99.

They are the same.

The price of the South Atlantic map was higher when it was first released. However, the map has many well-known problems that have not been resolved so far. Recently, due to a financial dispute between ed and razbam, razbam refused to update the South Atlantic map, which made many buyers dissatisfied. Also  have doubts about purchasing the new products of DCS company. The higher price set by orbx for kola map must make many buyers hesitate. It would be ideal if it could be a little lower.

I'm not particularly concerned. Razbam had a bit of a reputation even before they'd made a single module in DCS.  In any case I expect their current dispute with ED will be smoothed over in time.

Orbx i've been buying stuff from going back to FS9 and I can't ever remember having a problem with them.  About the only the risk I can see is that its their first foray into DCS.

This is the first time orbx has made a military map for DCS. This is the biggest risk I see.

Indeed, but everyone has to start somewhere. And to temper that, scenery/maps (albeit on other platforms) is their bread and butter and they also have a hard-won reputation to protect. So in that sense, less risk on paper than a completely new start-up studio or one branching out from making planes to making scenery.  And given levels of interest then it doesn't sound all that likely that they'll drop it because it simply didn't sell well.

Anybody tried to login to the Orbx central? It doesn't work for me. Deleting central folder per there support central recommendation or synchronizing the clock didn't help at all. I can still login on their web page.

I have a similar problem at the DCS E-shop.  Unable to log-in in order to complete the purchase of the Kola map.

Hi again, 

managed to access my account by logging in separately, not through the E-shop purchase cart.  After logging in, I was able to perform the purchase.

Now I have to make room on my M.2 disk first to accommodate the Kola map. (over 150 GB)
