Gunfreak Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 So I've watched several tutorials and chucks guide and I can't get it to work. I set QFR to waypoint 2, that I turn into a attack point. I set the SLAV IS to FRAN, and RHM, I set weapons to attack. I fly towards the ships, I find them on the radar, I hit BX and 8, move the cursor over the ships and lock them. I set the main mod to ANF. And take of the safety on the trigger Now two things happen. 1. I get the radar altitude height light showing that something is wrong, and refuses to release 2. Some times I get ranging info for release sometimes not, and it's random if I get it or not, I can repeat the process 5 times doing the exact same thing, some times I get ranging, some times I don't but I always get the light stopping me from releasing the weapon, doesn't mater if I'm 200 meters or 15 000 meters over the water. I can not get release. i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.

Launch altitude is between 50 and 2000m, so flying at 15000m will not help you. Did you check where your Bx6 and Bx7 are? Sometimes they can be quite off. Max total turn angle for the missile is 135 degrees. Did you check your programmed pathing? So again, give us a track. It is a complete shot in the dark figuring out what you are doing wrong.

I fly from anywhere from 200 to 1500 (snuck in an extra 0) I just hit the BX8 and it should add BX6 and 7 by itself and I don't see any cross on the radar for BX7 when I go to ANF which the tutorials claim, my cross is also different from both video tutorials and chucks guide, but all these tutorials are like 5-7 years old so I don't know if it's just a graphical change. the tutorials show a faint cross, but I get a big fat cross inside a circle. Here's a track Sweden-20240511-151651.trk 9.3 MB · 3 downloads I watched your track and I think I know where it all went wrong, when you designate Bx8 via the radar, the auto-generated Bx6 and Bx7 are often (not always but most of the time) placed way off to the side in a position that is physically impossible for the missile to follow according to its guidance limitations. In the image below, you can see that you have Bx8 selected on the boat (which is fine) but the Bx7 point is the cross that is sitting just above the 120 on the radar. In situations like this you need to switch to the Bx7 point and then move it in line with yourself and the ship, or at least somewhere that the missile can follow to then turn and reach the target within the range limits of the missile. In regards to your last sentence, there were some changes recently to make the radar look better/realistic and that's why it's a bit darker than the older screenshots (it still functions the same though). Also, in case you didn't know, you can raise the HUD using the lever on the left side, makes it easier to see the HUD symbology! null Edited May 15, 2024 by 3000 Black Jets of Allah
