Distiler Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Hi, MP UI is a very basic one, and it has been said in the future the only UI will be the single player one, that is the modern technology UI. I hope this will bring, among others, multiplayer debriefings and, I hope, some kind of mp campaign mode. The question is if the patch will bring an unified UI. Raz_Specter Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Lets hope so, as loading the MP UI takes a hell of a lot longer that the SP UI. Legolasindar Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 SP and MP is in diferent exe but is diferent engine. SP have the new Engine, and MP have the old Engine, when ED complete the new engine for 3D world, ED merge all in one. Distiler Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 mhhh I'm not sure different terrain engines are used. I think it's just the UI technology. AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2
PB0KGM_Foxy Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 an other thing that can be usefull in a patch is to have acess to the option in MP SYSTEM SPECS: I7 9700K @ 5Ghz - 32 Gb RAM @ 3200 - RTX 2080 super - 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 - Windows 10 pro - HOTAS Warthog - HP Reverb
Feuerfalke Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I also strongly doubt that these are 2 different engines. From my impression I'd say the different exe-files are only for the GUI and then launch the same 3D-output-engine. The different GUIs make sense, though. At the moment you have a decent SinglePlayer-GUI and a rather superficial Multiplayer-GUI, but from the statements made and from the path ahead, I bet the MP-GUI will be upgraded much more, so you have everything you need for SP in the SP-GUI and can configure servers, lobbies and online-stuff in the MP-GUI. Remember, this is just the first step into a bigger world. Legolasindar Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Diferent engines is not said for my, is said for ED. I go search the post ED say is diferent Engine. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Cavallers del Cel - Comunintat Catalana de Simulació http://www.cavallersdelcel.cat
-Nighthawk- Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 It's the same engine, the exe is just modified to create better multiplayer experience so that everyone's is the same.
Nate--IRL-- Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 As far as I'm aware the Singleplayer UI mission editor etc is a Separate program from the DCS.exe simulation engine. The multiplayer UI is built straight into the Simulation engine, and bypasses the Singleplayer interface altogether. GGTharos Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 ^^^^ Correct. The MP UI is currently undeveloped - as stated above, the SP UI is a separate program from the actual simulation. Hopefuly at some point a better MP interface will be developed. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
msalama Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 What we have is the same engine for both, but a different front end / UI .exe, at least as far as I've noticed... The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Ulrich Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 The question is if the patch will bring an unified UI. Definitely not in 1.0.1.
Distiler Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 What about the 3rd party GUI Source Package? will it be released soon so we can speed up things? AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2
GGTharos Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 It has been said before that it will be announced when it is ready. Wags posted some approximate targets that ED is aiming for, no promises, in the 3rd party tools thread. If there are changes, that post will be updated. What about the 3rd party GUI Source Package? will it be released soon so we can speed up things?
