Talvid Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 Hello, to whom is concerned about this, I notice when I flip the rotary knob, on the rear left panel, to INT ( so I can talk to the ground crew) I then open the comms menu (with MIC SWITCH FWD) and press F8 to call the ground crew. When I then press F1 to open the Rearm / Refuel menu, the Rotary Knob jumps back to VHF. It seems like it should stay on INT. When I press ok on the refuel rearm menu, I have to hurry and switch it back to INT to hear the ground crew reply. It's not that the Ground Crew don't commence refueling and rearmign the bird, they do. It's just I don't hear their reply, but I do if I switch the rotary knob back to INT very quickly. Is it a bug? I just tried such a scenario and the Intercom Rotary Selector Switch doesn't react to issueing radio commands for me. Can you upload a short track to showcase the issue?

If it happens again, be sure to save the track (unless it's a longer flight and the problem only manifests after a while - watching hour long tracks for a minute issue is not a great way to spend time...) I'd also check the controller assignments to make sure there's no accidental keybind that might conflict with anything.
ED Team Lord Vader Posted May 23, 2024 ED Team Posted May 23, 2024 Hello @Talvid Keep an eye out for this one. If you have it again, make sure to capture it in a track and let us know. I'm inclined to a conflict in your hardware assignments, like @Yurgonsuggested as well. Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord

It only seems to happen on an mp server, and here's a quick / straightforward track of it happening: - I slot into an A10 cold start - I flip the battery and inverter switches on - then look at the left panel at the rotary selector, I will first set it to INT and then key the comms menu, press F8, and F1 for rearm refuel, and watch it flip to VHF automatically. I also checked my keybinds, I have nothing bound to the rotary selector currently. A10CII-rotary-selector-involuntary-switch.trk Edited May 25, 2024 by Talvid 1 VR rig -
ED Team Lord Vader Posted May 27, 2024 ED Team Posted May 27, 2024 Hi @Talvid Now I see it. Thanks for the explanation and example. It seems you are using the "Easy Communication" option in the Mission Editor for this mission. In that mode, the radio comms are handled in "AUTO" mode, meaning that you can select whatever frequency you want on the comm menu and DCS will decide what radio to use (VHF, UHF, INT, etc). So that's why you are seeing the rotary switch move and you still can hear the ICS. If you want realistic operations, remove the "Easy Communications" for the missions you want and then you can operate that switch realistically. 2 Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord

Oh, so does 4YA aerobatics use Easy Communications always? It must be that. Thanks for the clarification. 1 VR rig -
ED Team Solution Lord Vader Posted May 28, 2024 ED Team Solution Posted May 28, 2024 The best way to confirm it is by going in the comm menu without tuning a station and try to call any option. If your radios are automatically tuned, then yes, Easy Communications is active. 1 1 Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
Corey Kelly Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Check for mechanical issues or worn-out parts in the rotary mechanism causing it to snap back to VHF.
