Mr_sukebe Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 (edited) Note: this is NOT related to an issue with DCS, though it could certainly be creating one. I've just booted my PC, and opened Oculusdash. I couldn't help but notice that OculusDash.exe is using circa 80% of my GPU resources (i.e. it's processing power, NOT it's VRAM or rendering capability). If that's true, that's going to be severely impacting available GPU resources for DCS. Anyone else seeing this? I've already raised an issue to Oculus on their website. https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/OculusDash-exe-very-high-GPU-usage/m-p/1198302#M306838 Edit: have just tried using SteamVRLink, and that's reporting as being even worse, i.e. at 90%. I'm assuming that those GPU numbers can't be right. Not sure if it's the same but have you tried using oculus tray tool to disable oculus home? 9800x3d; rtx5080 FE; 64Gb RAM 6000MHz; 2Tb NVME; Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4).
Mr_sukebe Posted May 31, 2024 Author Posted May 31, 2024 I do have my Oculus home disabled. Task manager is showing the Oculus Dashboard as eating my GPU resources. Rather bizarrely, I was happily able to fly my Hind around the Kola map in VR. Hopefully the Oculus support team can shed some light on the findings from the Oculus log files that I sent them. 1 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat

Which version of quest link are you using? Have your tried using Virtual Desktop to see how it compares? 9800x3d; rtx5080 FE; 64Gb RAM 6000MHz; 2Tb NVME; Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4).
Silvera Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 I have a script disabling the oculus dash which increases performance. You may want to check that one. I don't experience the same though but oculus dash is just eating resources in the background.

Silvera Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 oculus dash enable-disable.rar To disable it simply use the one for it. After you exit DCS use the other one to enable.
slughead Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Might be obvious but have you tried rebooting your PC? Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Slugmouse Demonstration Video

slughead Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Are you using the PTC version or normal release version? Either way, perhaps try switching to one or the other. Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Slugmouse Demonstration Video
Mr_sukebe Posted June 4, 2024 Author Posted June 4, 2024 (edited) I’ll go check, thanks. One point I spotted yesterday was that the GPU usage dropped whilst opening/leaving DCS. That suggests to me that the workload generated by the Dashboard outside of any games is disabled when jumping into a game. It would also explain why my frame rate is generally fine.
