There are a lot of controls in the mosquito those are not assign to any key combination. Is it expected to be assigned later by a future patches?

If I assign now an own keybind, will it be overwritten later? Or will the mosquito be realeased with so many controls unbinded?

Hi,

generally no, you can assign your keys and they will not be over written, sometimes if there are bugs or changes needed to be made the assignments can change, but we would always add that to a change log.

Its important to make a backup of your inputs folder occasionally, this can save potential heart ache in the future.

thank you

Backing up the keybinds is not what worries me.

I usually left the default keybinds and assign them to hotas buttons using TM Target or CH Manager, those are easier to manage and backup than DCS assignments. Don't need to worry about device IDs.

If the mosquito will have default keybinds later, I would not want to spend time setting up my own keybinds and mapping them to target now to find later that I need to repeat the process again with the default ones.

I think I explained better now what I'm asking.

Where is this input folder? the only i found are per aircraft, and i got a lot of them by now ... and whats in them is just a joystick and keyboard sub-folder with only a default.lua.

The other input folder is in ..... Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\  and then the planes. Are those the defaults?

The names are the ones appearing in the game controls top bar. are those including the the edits i made and used in the game?

As the edits i made however are in ................Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\InputUserProfiles

Hi

Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\

is what you should back up,

any user changes should be made in the DCS folder in saved games, not in the root of DCS.

  • Thanks 1
