F18 UFC backlighting problem

Hi, so in the SAP software, you can set a choice of light patterns or none. however the choice is not persistent, is there a way to make it stay off, so I dont have to do this every time I start up?

I know a line of code you can put in the WinWing LUA file that it will always default to off for an aircraft...only issue is it's aircraft specific unless you use the Universal mod for the UFC.

Export what? in @markturner1960's case he's in VR, so no need for data to be displayed on the UFC

 

...sidenote, just checked apparently, with my setup, it does remember lighting settings

Display off is persistent

Yes, I am in VR, but I can very easily see the MFD's and find it easier to use them rather than the mopuse.....so its ideal if I can have it exported. @MustangSally  is your on/off setting persistent?

What are your thoughts re running the screens while in VR? In terms of resourses, as I use a large widescreen monitor 5140 x 1440, and with the screens, its a fairly large resolution to push, something like 7000 x 1440 .....Usually in VR I have the monitor resolution set to 2560 x 1440......quite a difference....?

However, I also understood that it does not really matter what resolution you run the monitor at while in VR in terms of loss of performance...........so no idea whats right.....
