Amarok_73 Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 (edited) Hello, I would really appreciate if anyone with such knowledge would be so nice to summarize for me shortly, in what scenarios which MMS mode/submode should be employed. Guille H. Mono Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 I don't know if this 13 minutes video fits in the 'summarize shortly' but it may be a good start point. Hope it helps! 1
Amarok_73 Posted June 10, 2024 Author Posted June 10, 2024 Hi @Guille H. Mono, thanks for the answer but I saw already this video and to be strict, while I am easy with modes, it's still unclear to me what are functional differences between submodes, all these little crosses, diamonds, and smaller or bigger frames related related to them. Also I have noticed some inconsistency (?), that I couldn't find the explanation in the documentation related to when the offset cross (or more general pointer) can be moved, vs when it is fixed to the center of the MMS image. Guille H. Mono Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Sorry I've not get there myself. I will keep an eye on this post and if I find something more detailed that can help us I will share it. 1

At this time (still learning) I use FWD mode when on the way to the tgt - Mode Selector to FWD, then push MAN/SLAVE btn to get the MMS looking fwd. You always see the active mode/submode on the bottom middle part of the MMS display. When I am in range to a tgt I use MAN/SLAVE to search for tgts, or if I have a waypoint where the tgt is expected I use PRE-POINT mode. You have to select the point to slew via R2 button named PPT. After that every time you use MAN/SLAVE you change between slewing the MMS to the selected waypoint and beeing able to slew yourself. Offset Mode - When you select a tgt with POINT TRACK it slews most of the time a bit above the tgt (laser guided wpns may miss). You have to push POINT TRACK again to get in OFFSET ACQUIRE mode - now you can slew the little cross to a point on the tgt where the wpn may hit the tgt. After this you have to push POINT TRACK btn AGAIN to get in OFFSET TRACK mode. Now the MMS tracks the tgt still in POINT TRACK but with a better aiming point for the laser. Hope this helps! Have fun! Marshallman Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 (edited) For the APKWSS... does anyone know if there is a way of raising or lowering the nose in hover to get the plus or minus 10deg reticule or do you have to do this manually? regards Edited June 10, 2024 by Marshallman 3XS AMD RyzenTM 7 9800X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 8 Core, 16 Thread, 4.7GHz, 5.2GHz Turbo, ASUS PRIME X870-P WiFi AM5 DDR5 PCIe 5.0 ATX Motherboard,Nvidia Geoforce RTX4090,Corsair Vengeance Grey 64GB 6000MHz AMD EXPO DDR5 Memory Kit,Windows 10 Pro Reverb G2V2
One Eyed Ross Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Speaking of MMS. I have seem some videos with the MMS not attached. I can't find this when I look for it. Am I missing something, or are those videos from the pre-release version that had a "without MMS" skin?

I've had feelings that I have confirmed yesterday, that this part is not always work as supposed to. Most of the times, it is like, I am pressing second (and third and even fourth) time the POINT TRACK, but small cross is stuck to the center of the larger one. Can anyone confirm my observation? Is it feature, or bug? Is it feature, or bug? It seems to be that happens after slaving in Pre-Point mode. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but this seems to cause the offset acquire and acquire on the move cursors to not move when attempting to slew. If you turn your MMS off and back on, it seems to clear whatever logic or variable is causing this behavior to be blocked. We'll see if this is fixed in the next patch, as I'm relatively certain it's a bug. 1

Rhinozherous Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 (edited) Experienced the same, looks like a bug. I linked this post to the Bugs and problems section.
