F-16 Pilot Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 (edited) Hello. I am new to the game and it was running fine before, however now it seems like any time I try and load a flight the game will crash. I am trying to load a very basic mission I made in the editor. The only module I have is the free trial of the F/A-18 and I tried reinstalling everything including the game with no luck. Any ideas on what's causing it? I will post the crash log form windows below. Flappie Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 There's even a bigger file with more clues, but this one will do: in the .crash file, we clearly see DCS had no more memory available to perform: # -------------- 20240621-200759 -------------- DCS/2.9.5.55918 (x86_64; Windows NT 10.0.19045) C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\edCore.dll # 80000003 BREAKPOINT at 00007fff8076782b 00:00000000 SymInit: Symbol-SearchPath: 'C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin;', symOptions: 532, UserName: '747Pilot' OS-Version: 10.0.19045 () 0x100-0x1 0x000000000002782b (edCore): ed::fatal_out_of_memory + 0x3B 0x0000000000022ea7 (edCore): ed::SharedBuffer::create + 0x37 Read this: ---
JAPman Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 Since the forced update of KB5039212, which I was keeping an eye on, DCS has been failing to start. I have uninstalled KB5039212 and suspended the update. What seemed to fix it for me was reinstalling Visual C++. Before, I would get errors on startup, but I could fix it by restarting the computer. However, with this last one nothing seemed to work until I repaired VC.
JAPman Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 In the meantime, I will try it and see what happens. Recently, Win11 has been giving me some strange errors. KB5039212 doesn't seem to uninstall completely. Just because of the fs2024 announcement... Reference (in Japanese). Quote I want to avoid the timestamps being updated to the time of the copy when a file or folder is copied. It is a guess, but under the circumstances I think it is from the 2024-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based systems ([KB5039212]). https://answers.microsoft.com/ja-jp/windows/forum/all/%E3%83%95%E3%82%A1%E3%82%A4%E3%83%AB%E3%82%84/e380a019-7b9c-4231-a514-1f424937dc4c OS:Windows 7 Ultimate CPU:Core i7-2700K 4.8GHz Mother Board:Asrock Z77Extreme6 Memory:G.SKILL DDR3-2133 16GB Graphic Card:AMD HD7970 1125/1575MHz Display:Eyefinity / Square x3
