Yeah, air boresight still offsets. It's a shame. Anything moving that's being Boresight on causes a delta from the point of TMS up on TGP to track to hitting bsgt after Mav lock. Static objects are fine.

@BIGNEWY was this entry in the F-16 update log:

  • Fixed. Maverick Boresight using an aircraft causes drifts/offset.

supposed to fix the issue in this thread? Because it didn't. Maverick in pre mode is still offset up to hundreds of feet from where the TGP is pointing.

Unfortunately, it didn't make it into the OB, but I can say that it works brilliantly. Now both sensors TGP and Maverick are Aligned, which makes it even more accurate from the first feeling.

Previously it was the Maverick and SPI that were aligned which led to the problem here and a small inaccuracy

Are you referring that it works on the test branch then? So are you saying theav is Boresighting to the TGP LOS essentially? That would make it work better but I feel it's not correct as there should be some form of parallax, which is why you Boresight to a distance (the intersection of LOS) if that makes sense. Regardless I just want it to work on moving targets, for instance your wingman

No, it is not tied to the LOS of the TGP, the result is just more precise Because both sensors initially look at the same thing. Before, there were always fluctuations, as I call it. Yes, and the consequence is that it works with moving objects.

Has it started accounting for distance again?

Currently if you boresight something at 4 miles, then at 7 miles it is not accurate.

You mean the F16 should compensate for the parallax error, because the system always knows the exact distance with the help of the TGP and especially with a laser measurement and thus always adjusts both sensors to each other. So it wouldn't really matter at what distance you carry out the BSGT?

I would of thought it would be able to do that yes.

It did do that when boresighting with the TGP was first introduced.

Just tried with latest patch, still no good for bore sighting on air target unfortunately

Can you send a track?

I'll test it again too.
