I'm adding a feature for fun to AMRACT.

It's new and improved kill messages :).

 

So far i'm thinking of copying some from Quake, and then entering

a whole bunch of others that we can come up with. Here's what we have so far!

 

Please don't take offense if your name is mentioned, this is all a joke :P

Help us make a long list and then ill put this functionality on the server!

Would it be possible to change the messages to whatever the server host wants? Also, could there be a delay in the messages for X number of seconds?

It would be cool if people stop using the server messages as confirmation of kills instead of using their eyes. So a delayed messaged might be cool. But then again, it feels kinda awkward to have a delay on them :)

McSims' (?) Server Commander is also good tool, IIRC with GUI.

But at least you need to open it and maybe scroll or what not. The chatlog doesnt take any workload.

Sorry, I must be getting old and crusty but I think such phrases are a bit purile and would grow tiresome very quickly.

 

If I wanted to play 'Half-Life' I'd get Hawx or some other teen nationalistic fantasy.

 

For me, LockOn is for the grown-ups practicing brevity.

 

What might be helpful with messaging is decent AWACS calls that report nearby friendlies as well as bandits - kinda like the real thing.

Sure, such a software would have its limitations, you would not get

a monster kill message in Locerf exactly ;).
