DmitriKozlowsky Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 How does one bring ILS bars onto HUD? For Stennis ILS Chanell : 11 ON. TACAN 74X: ON Mode: NAV Is there a HUD submode for NAV landing?
razo+r Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 You need to chose ILS on the HSI and receive the signal for them to display.
Dangerzone Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 (edited) As Razo+r mentioned - you will need to 'box' ILS on the HSI page. Also - these will only show when you are behind the carrier. If you're trying to see them when you're in front of the carrier, they won't show up. The lateral bar (vertical) will show up fairly far behind the carrier to show if you're left or right, but the glide slope (horizontal bar) will only show up when you're around 8 miles (IIRC) behind the carrier. In addition to this, the ship also needs to be configured to broadcast (which is done in one of the waypoints). You should be able to see if the ship is indeed broadcasting by pressing K to bring up the kneeboard, and see what the ICLS channel is there. Edited July 1, 2024 by Dangerzone
