BlackFalco Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 PLEASE HELP lol. So guys, every time I set a mission AI goes straight to land to nearest airport EVEN IF i gave them tasks like "attack group" or something else. Is there a fix for this? Thanks a lot!

Hi razo thanks for your answer! My "speech" was just general, sayin that often occured to me that AI even if given task would land to the nearest airbase. BUT, I've found out in the last mission that I thought it was not responding well to my commands (were some F18Cs doin anti-ship) it was because as soon as they spawned they fired the missile and then just go away . I've read on Reddit about someone hinting to "trick" their reaction to threat makin them just passive defense and also override AI value set to ON.
Glide Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 (edited) AI will do that if they run low on fuel, get damaged, or complete their tasks. My approach, give them one or two waypoints, and put Orbit on the last one. They will do their thing until fuel gets low and then head for the nearest friendly or neutral base. Units that have one target, I don't expect to transition to CAS or CAP; they can hit their target and go home. I should point out that I never, ever talk to the AI fighters. I set them up to perform, and they do what they are programmed to do. I never take a wingman either. I know not all missions work that way, but I like it. Edited July 2, 2024 by Glide
