I haven't seen anything to indicate that the AIM-9L was ever carried by the F-5E — the -1 and -34 manuals only reference B, E, J, N, and P.

The F-5E was certified by the USAF to carry the AIM-9L/M on the wings and outboard stations through the Quad Missile Carriage System (QMCS) and the Low Drag Pylons LAU-100(M)/101(M)

Aim9M/CATM-9M is only referenced  as a valid loadout for the F5N wingtips in the NATOPS NAVAIR 01-F5AAA-1  published 2006.

Aim9L isn't mentioned but i would assume if F5N rated for 9M it could  mount the 9L even if its not explicitly mentioned.
