  1. I am curious if the coming low fidelity module will also see an art update, like the art updates that some of the AI aircraft received? I would also love to see a treatment of the F-5E FF module to an export standard that included an air refueling probe and maverick. Kind of like the upgrades for the black shark and A-10C - optional, with expanded capability. One can dream! F-5E is still my daily driver in DCS.
  2. Is there a bug report open for this flight model issue? It seems like that would be pretty significant in close combat!
  3. Great to hear about all the work being done on Vulkan, looking forward to that and the FSR 2 integration it can bring!
  4. F-4S is my absolute fave, no chin pod, very sleek!
  5. this is pure gold, I am 100% stealing this for future use
  6. Now that the Flaming Cliffs 3 upgrade has dropped, can we expect something similar to this for the F-5E? Cheers
  7. Haha when was the Belsimtek F-4E first announced? 2016/2017? Our character must be built up to the moon by now! All joking aside, being this close after waiting for so long is great if not a little maddening (in a good way??)
  8. This is the reason I have put off my F-5 pit project entirely... even if built 1:1 to the real thing, the DCS one is still an artists impression. This is why I have been so vocal in the forums for an art update to the F-5E - it's really showing its age and in the era of laser scanned sub millimeter accuracy (a la Heatblur) it's no longer acceptable to be so far off of the real thing. I'll pay $15 for an upgrade if it means making the module more accurate. And I'm not even a rivet counter!!
  9. I personally recommend Trigger 4, it's what I use and I like the feel of it the best in my F-5 setup! It is dual stage - the small canted lip will interact with both microswitches. There is another trigger with a more aggressive cam surface, however I have noticed that the return from the second stage can get sticky. Trigger 4 is 2 stage and the best bet for the F-5! null
  10. Trigger 1 is the same as the original, and trigger 4 is similar in footprint to another B-8 grip I scanned. 2&3 are F-15 triggers
  11. Hi! This is an excellent reference - did you take this scan or is this available publicly? Thank you!
  12. That is correct yes - you upload the gerber files, the bill of materials, and designate that you want PCBway to assemble for you. They will provide a quote after reviewing the project and an order can be generated!
  13. My apologies, I missed the drive link when I uploaded - here are the PCB files for the grip and the ALPS switch https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1U1hJhUX7D6RivXJQ5D5R-rEtU3suw5zG?usp=sharing
  14. Not necessarily - it is possible to remove that function with software (example MMJoy2), however it only works for a total of 2 switches. In this case, because the F-15 grip has 3 switches, a hardware solution was necessary. There are PCB version available for both the larger alps switch with the encoder, and the smaller one I feature in the video. They are pretty cheap to assemble from 3rd party services like PCBway and JLPCB etc.
  15. Hi all, As a follow on to my F-15E WSO Handgrips, I have now completed my design for the F-15 front seat Joystick! This stick is compatible with Thrustmaster, Virpil, and VKB Bases (with the adapter). I hope you enjoy, and if you have any feedback, please do let me know!
  16. I asked this on November 27th during a livestream: Question "With all the love for COLD WAR aircraft, what can Wags tell us about the F-5E Tiger II update?" Answer "I'm not sure what specific update he is talking about. Yeah, the art is definitely showing its age a bit, and there's certainly some bugs to fix. In particular the radar and the RWR still have some issues. But in terms of major updates, not exactly sure what he's referring to." Question "Follow up for Wags on the F-5E - in January he said "big changes are already underway, but it's a bit too early to discuss. We look forward to sharing our F-5E plans later in the year. So?" Answer "Ah okay so I know what he's talking about now. So, there is some... 'stuff' we're working on the F-5, we just can't really talk about it right now in any kind of detail." --------------------------------------------------------------------- At minimum we are expecting improvements to the art and continued bugfixes for the radar and RWR. Happy to see the RWR issues being acknowledged at a high level. As for the additional "stuff" he mentioned, and what "big changes already underway" means, we genuinely have no idea. If I can speculate, the recent AI model debacle in which ED advertised high detail AI models and released low detail AI models makes me think that we will be seeing something like a "High Detail Asset Pack" or high detail assets as their own module, etc, in which old modules like the F-5E will also see art improvements. I have no opinion either way - I'm just hoping for more information on the improvements.
  17. I fully understand that this is their intention/plan - I still think it's going to be longer than even they can predict, given the track record of the last 2 years. This isn't a criticism just trying to set my own expectations low for obvious reasons haha
  18. I'd bet it's way more than that. Ironmike said the current release order is F-4E, Eurofighter, and then A-6. They don't even have a plan for where the naval F-4 fits into that yet. At the risk of turning the forums into a Discord screenshot repository, here's the latest from Cobra - no Navy F-4 for a long, long time
