I have some ground units set to the waypoint action "Fire at point". They get there and start shooting away. I also have a supply vehicle right next to the firing point to make sure they don't run out of ammo. But after firing for a bit they get bored and stop and stand around doing nothing. I managed to get around this by the "Fire at point" as a trigger task on a repeating 60 second trigger and now they merrily blast away for ever.

Is there a way to do this without having to put it on a repeating trigger and just have them continue to fire at the set point?

If I set infantry or any other to ground units to fire at point and set an truck next to them. They will fire of their ammo, reload and begin firing again after not too long a time.

However in my latest mission that didn't happen. Infantry stopped firing and so did the mortar.

I believe I came across the same issue. At least I know I'm not crazy and it's happening to other people. This is my thread I started and I have a workaround so that they keep firing:

Thanks! A bit of a chore having to set up that trigger. But at least it can be fixed.

It seems like they run out of ammo and can't resupply. As they didn't even fire at when I was hovering righer over them.

That's the thing, I don't think this is the problem. I had them set up with an ammo truck right next to them (one time it was part of their group, the other time it was its own group) and they just stop firing. I then made it so they did a normal "fire at point" waypoint action and then 15 minutes later (it can be a shorter time but I wanted to make sure they had definitely stopped firing) I set a trigger event and they started firing again. So they definitely don't run out of ammo, something in their logic is broken.
