wjmzwx Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 (edited) I find agm65 in dcs is really not a good standoff weapon… I‘m not sure if it locks on the right target until I fly within 5-7 miles. If in urban area, maybe 2-4. And I have to dump the nose to make sure the boresight cross is in the Key, which means I have to go with a dive to my target. Although I get to kill the bad guy everytime, I feel really tired and keep wondering a Jdam will be more suitable for the mission. I’m not a pilot, and in no way I can know what‘s it like irl, just talk about my game experience. Always, after I fire my 65s, I ’m in real relief. But thanks BD,I love your campaigns ! dimanizer Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 I think that they key is slaving from the TGP. If boresighted properly, it shouldn't be an issue, or at least that's what I've found with limited experience in BMS. In DCS F16 boresighting seems to be very buggy. Not sure if that's just me. 1
baltic_dragon Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 Yes, it is important to boresight them properly while still on the ground, there are many good tutorials on how to do this on YT. After that they work soo much better! 1 For more information, please visit my website. If you want to reach me with a bug report, feedback or a question, it is best to do this via my Discord channel. Solution Milker Posted July 25, 2024 Solution Posted July 25, 2024 Hi! I use to boresight them on the air. Speed around 260-280 Knots (to give u time to change the rack), altitude 6000-8000, and range 4-5 nm. I get the best results with this method, and i also use home airbase after airborne for boresighting. Doing it on the ground seems to get worst parallax effect, same with range above 6 nm or less than 3. To be honest i tend to boresight as close as i can get as using AGM65 to strike something. Cheers 1
