AacAac Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 (edited) When I use the script function unit:getDescentCapacity() on a CH47Fb11 it returns a value of 108. This seems a bit on the high side, My research found Boeing saying 44 seated, the RAF web site says 55, the most I could find was in an forum about Vietnam where they said up to 70 troops and 80 civilians. The Early access guide says 32. I have tested this function with other troop carrying Helios and it seem to report much more sensible numbers. A quick calculation of weight is 90kg x 108 = 9720kg, which it could lift, but could you physically fit this number of troops in ? Is this 108 right ? Edited August 20, 2024 by AacAac 1
flmike911 Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 The 47F can carry 32 troops seated and belted. In Afghanistan, we would fill the seats and then have guys sitting nuts to butts on the floor down the middle of the aircraft. The most I can remember was in the high 40's depending on how much crap they had on them. Rule of thumb for weight is 250lbs for regular troops and 275lbs for paratroops. Depending on the mission, the theater commander can grant a "seats out" waiver. That is rare, but if it happened you could conceivably load in the high 50's. Hope this helps. 2
AacAac Posted August 21, 2024 Author Posted August 21, 2024 Thanks flmike911, your reply makes sense and matches up with everything I read on the web. I wonder why ED have set it up to report back a capacity of 108. Its not a big issue just glad to know I was not going mad.
ED Team NineLine Posted August 23, 2024 ED Team Posted August 23, 2024 I have requested for 44 right now, but I am not sure if in the future we will have more options or restrictions based on seats, no seats, infantry type etc. Thanks!
