lesthegrngo Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Hi all, I can't seem to get the MFG crosswinds to set correctly in DCS. Even though I have gone in and made my own adjustments to the axis curve, basically in theory reducing the sensitivity, in-game especially on the ground the pedals seem to be super sensitive. You just can't touch them, if you do the aircraft dives off the runway. If I set them sometimes it seems to help, but within a short time they revert back to being over sensitive Is there a way to improve this? Les
Hoirtel Posted August 31 Posted August 31 (edited) If you are on a takeoff or landing, with the pedals on nosewheel steering then the slightest touch will send you off. Once you have speed up then the rudder is all you should use. How nosewheel steering is managed varies between modules, for those that have a nosewheel. Edited August 31 by Hoirtel
lesthegrngo Posted August 31 Author Posted August 31 I can disable nosewheel steering, but clearly I need it for taxiing as well - it's not much fun with it being so sensitive. If I could make it sensibly mapped it would make the pedals work much better Les
Lange_666 Posted August 31 Posted August 31 I have the same feeling that overall rudder sensitivity has changed a few updates ago (since 2.9.6 if i remember correctly). After the update the aircrafts went "almost violently" left or right when rolling down the runway even with the slightest rudder input. At first I thought that the update had reset my rudder curves (also MFG Crosswind) to default. This was not the case, my set curves per aircraft were still all there. Maddaawg Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Are you setting up the dead zone in the MFG software? I just started having this issue too and noticed last night in the MFG software were back to default. I read that Milan recommended using his tool for dead zone adjustments, but at the same time the MFG software seems directed more to an engineer who designed it and not the consumer. Maddaawg Posted October 6 Posted October 6 For the MFG Crosswinds V3 I have my DCS settings to stock, so no dead zone or curves. Then I made the settings in the MFG application. Setting the rudder dead zone to 50 gave me great control on my last landing and taxi. I found an 8-year-old video that showed the settings he used and why. There is also a program called DIView that came with the MFG software that will help you determine how much to set your rudder dead zone.
