I love that you put the station in, but the repetition cycle is a little short. No criticism, I understand totally: Licensing.
Is there somehow I can add more music to it, perhaps redirect it to my music library?

thanks

Sure. Open the miz file using 7zip and replace the 60s_Radio.ogg file with a similarly named file of your own. I wish I could have used real music, but there were only a handful of these 60s-ish copyright free ones available. Or, you can have my Spotify playlist play in the background.

Awesome, thanks! I'm very glad it's that easy.
Yeah, copyright in music is ridiculous. I say that as a musician. It's truly insane. <sigh> 😕
I've also already replaced several of the menu music themes. MiG-21bis with the Vietnamese nat. anthem, MiG-15bis with the N.Korea nat. anthem, MiG-29 with E. German nat. anthem, Su-27 series with Sovio-russia nat. anthem ... 😉 😄

I found a good source of "replacement" files. Recordings of AFRV (American Armed Forces Radio Vietnam). Of course, there's commercial music in them, so it is up to the end-user to choose one and replace the radio station file. It's pretty awesome that it's per-mission too, as there are A FREAKIN WHOMP TON of these recordings. Days worth. Not even kidding.

Aside from the music, they're public domain, as it's government material. And easy to convert the .mp3 files to .ogg. Audacity is free and can do it lickity split.

EDIT: Okay. Not as simple as I thought to convert the .mp3 files to .ogg. They're quite low volume, and need just a slight bit of processing to increase the volume. It can be done in Audacity easily.

This is a outstanding site!

You could use these files to create your own radio station to use in any mission you choose!

I have done so already with great results.

Listen to the events, as they happened, while on the same mission!

Very cool!

There are WWII recordings as well

"Yeah, and though I work in the valley of Death, I will fear no Evil. For where there is one, there is always three. I preparest my aircraft to receive the Iron that will be delivered in the presence of my enemies. Thy ALCM and JDAM they comfort me. Power was given unto the aircrew to make peace upon the world by way of the sword. And when the call went out, Behold the "Sword of Stealth". And his name was Death. And Hell followed him. For the day of wrath has come and no mercy shall be given."

Quite so. Archive.org has some awesome stuff, lots of it public domain or CC0 (non-sequiter: You can also play a lot of old 8-bit computer games directly in your browser using an embedded emulator. Very cool)

I checked the National Archives too. They've got a bunch of 'Nam recordings they intend to digitize, but haven't yet. Definitely something to keep an eye on.

A good example of what is possible
