Game wont start after the update

Hello.

I am not currently at my computer. But this error is because of a mod "aircraftweaponpack". Can you disable any unofficial mods and try? This is a standard troubleshooting step.

It works now, it was the Open XR toolkit , I just disable it

I haven't made any changes to my computer since the last time I successfully opened it????  I am trying to run in VR mode?  Is that it maybe???

I am in the same predicament as of tonight. Have tried a ton of things to no avail.

I also just started getting this error without any changes other than installing a few skins. Tried the OpenXR disabling: did not do a damn thing. Problem still there.

If you're talking about the "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)" error then download the X64 version of the MS C++ redistribution from here and run it and repair/install https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170#latest-microsoft-visual-c-redistributable-version

If you're having other issues then attach your C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS\Logs\dcs.log file here for review.

Thank you. The C++ repair fixed the problem. Don't know how it got corrupted.

I even downloaded a fresh install of DCS last night. First attempt to open and received the same error.

BTW, no log file with this issue. It evidently does not get far enough to even open a log file.

• Check for mod conflicts if you have any installed.

If it still doesn’t work, consider reinstalling or checking the DCS forums for specific update-related issues.

This problem had already been solved. Also reinstalling is not advised, performing a slow repair of the game (or verifying files for Steam) achieves the same thing without needing to download the entire game all over again.
