The Vietnam era for DCS is soon to be one of the most deeply represented of all periods. Projects in development include the F-100 Super-Sabre, A-1 Skyraider, F8 Crusader, alongside already existing modules like the F-4E Phantom II, F-5 Tiger II, Huey, MiG 19, and 21. Not to mention the exceptionally well-done A4 Skyhawk and OH6 modules.

"In Country" is a group focused on this era, making an effort to thread the needle between realism and enjoyment in an environment of learning and skill development. We are organized by aircraft type, with mission design intended to realistically portray a Vietnam-like environment, threat provision, mission type, and platform roles. While we are very new, future plans include expanding support to red air as well. In a fully actualized picture, we would like to have a squadron or two of each aircraft type on both blue and red sides realistically structured providing multiplayer gameplay in well-designed missions on a regular basis.

Our goal is to create an immersive and authentic experience that closely mirrors the challenges faced by pilots during this conflict while also promoting individual growth through logbook tracking and career progression in official events. We would like to unite a community of aviation and history enthusiasts committed to continual learning, teamwork, and shared interests in a realistic setting.

Platforms currently supported:

A4 Skyhawk
F4 Phantom
UH-1H Huey
OH-6A Loach.

Future plans include:

Full support of Red Air squadrons including the MiG 17, MiG 19, MiG 21.
Support for A6, F-100, and A-1.

We offer:

Realistic missions in a setting similar to that of the Vietnam War
Balanced training and flight organization.
Minimal mandatory flight time.
Organization and structure.
A community of aviation and history enthusiasts.
Room to grow.
Get in on ground level.

Requirements:

18 years of age
Microphone
Passion for learning and history.

LMAO, finally, someone one knows who the Guy in Back is....... He should be Gibs, not Jester......... jester was the adversary.

I've got the A-4, but I'm really wanting the A-7. I repaired the DECM on the A-7 & A-6. VA-22 & 94 made the last Cruises with them on the Enterprise in 88. I was in 94. Good times.

I never understood why someone stick with the mouse placed to the righthand side. I placed my mouse in in my Cockpit to the left side so i never need to hand off the stick.

I don't actually use the mouse while playing like I'm flying an airplane. But, I use it quite extensively while using RSMapper and DCS Settings pages. It's really handy when I want to build or adjust profiles, for the small repertoire of modules on the SSD.  You see, this way I have no need to lean forward to the desk to use it. I won't assume you did not see the TM Viper Panel on the same MTSIM mount as the mouse extension!?!.......

I hope I didn't put your moral high ground off kilter any.

Improvise, Adapt, Overcome.......... SEMPER FORTIS

Several things, first and foremost, if you are not already tracking, check out ViolentNomads cobra mod on the way.  INSANE job and right there at the same level as the Cayuse. Going to make a great Hunter/Killer team when he gets it released.  His latest video just got released today and he has a forum you can follow on here as well as a discord page he keeps updated.

Second, you may consider adding the OV-10 Bronco mod to your Vietnam inventory.  My buddies and I have been flying a Dynamic Vietnam scenario we put together that has some endless good times to it.  We have been utilizing the Cayuse as a scout and having the A-4's, F-4's, and Bronco to strike the locations the scouts are finding.  Also have Huey/Cayuse time where tandem in attacks.  Videos below.  We plan on beefing up the scenario by adding in some more things.  We have Air to Air engagements now but also want to add CSAR mission, transport, and SEAD.  I was really hopping the WW2 version of the Marianas would make it out this year.  We found a way to remove building from the map on the Marianas to make it look more like a sparse jungle.  Any Vietnam scenario is a good time to fly in DCS! A lot of good modules on the way.  I am counting the days until Heat Blur releases the Intruder.

Speaking of A-4s! Did a little practice in the Scooter last night.  Only my second time doing AAR.  Love this mod! And yes, I should have gone around on the carrier landing, but it was late.
